Still a hard pass on Simmons. Too overrated.
Except as a fighter. Once again, Petey will not survive the playoffs without a minder, and just because his stats are down does not mean he cannot pot the odd goal when out there.
Do we have anyone on the farm who can fill his skates?

Sharks Erik Karlsson injured thumb, out for the season, they sit at 26th overall and the Sens get their unprotected 1st rounder this year.
SJS got him for another 7 years at an $11.5M cap hit with a fully locked NMC.
Oilers and Sharks, like the Canucks, are in an Eastern conference portion of their schedules. Unfortunate, would be nice to have some head to heads during the next few games. Canucks are done with Edmonton and only have remaining, late March, date with the Sharks.

And re-sign Simmonds 2 years $2.775m per - the Ryan Reaves contract.

Kane gets three games
Kassian gets 7
Chara gets 0
You can’t even make this shut up. George Parros is a fucking idiot.

Devils acquire David Quenneville and a 2021 2nd rounder from the NYI for their 37yr old captain Andy Greene as a rental, $5M cap hit.........yes Tanev is then worth a 1st.

They aren’t trading Tanev while they are knee deep in a playoff race. Best RH D man in the team. What kind of message does that send trading him for a late 1st?

Gotta be ruthless in this game, St. Louis Blues style moving Stastny for a 1st+ while they were in the playoff race.

And what if Tanev bolts via UFA?
St Louis was in the mix, the Canucks are leading their crappy division and are probably a lock at this point to make it. If they trade Tanev for a late 1st there’s a decent chance they could miss.
If Tanev leaves as a UFA, use his cap space towards a replacement.

What did I just read? I will tell you what I just read - nonsense. let me out s now tie in this:
Here is reason to be concerned with Bowen - on pace for 6 goals. To put in perspective - Woo currently has 6 goals. Byram scored 26 goals last season. Combine that with his ouchy WJC showing it’s not looking good. Did he have a one off Florida Garrison like season last year? For Colorado’s sake, I hope not
And to think ole Doyle is trading Godkolzin for him
Byram has always projected as an all around D man. No idea what Garrison or Woo have to do with anything. More red herrings from the Chef.
Bowen Byram with 10 points in his last 6 games.
Now with 17 points in his last ten games. Bowen Byram has 37 points in 41 games.

jebus. We are one injury away from having 2 rookies and Troy from Richmond playing as our top 5.

Skyo, get back in your thread!
(But actually I agree with you, *if* Tanev isn't interested in re-signing. I'd be even more ruthless and target an on-the-brink playoff team, like the Leaves, and bet on them missing so you get a lotto pick ).

So you’d be fine with the Canucks missing the post season this year?
