Is it really out of the realm that Jersey trades Jack Hughes? He ain’t the most durable. Luke is…ok… I suppose.
The more I look at it, Petey and Willander for Jack and Luke Hughes is close to a wash. We might have to top it up but not by much.

That's what I've been thinking. I am a Petey hopeful, but if this is what it takes to keep Quinn here...Chef Boi RD wrote: ↑Wed Apr 23, 2025 7:48 pm Is it really out of the realm that Jersey trades Jack Hughes? He ain’t the most durable. Luke is…ok… I suppose.

Who comes out for Jack?
And if we keep Willander ... who comes out for him?

McCann and the rights to pick Kyrou were traded for a guy with the skill level of Jack Mchilhargey but not near as tough.
And you say the team would be no better with those two guys up front.
Kyrou Pettersson Boeser
Debrusk McCann Hoglander
Yeah that isn't a better top six at all.
Some crafty bunnies here.

Mancini would be seventh if Willander outplays him and Forbort isn’t resigned. But how often isn’t one defencemen injured. Seventh is generally a full time NHLer. The following year the hope would be both prospects outplay Myers and he is seventh in the final year of his contract.

Why would St. Louis trade Kyrou and Seattle trade McCann? And if they would, what asset of ours would make them consider?Blob Mckenzie wrote: ↑Wed Apr 23, 2025 8:17 pm McCann and the rights to pick Kyrou were traded for a guy with the skill level of Jack Mchilhargey but not near as tough.

Who gives a shit.
From everything we’ve heard in the end of season panels the problem with this team skates around to the tune of $11.6 sheets. You could bring in MacKinnon and this team would still flounder if Scooter was still in the mix.
We’ve seen some piss poor decisions with this team since 1970, and although I wasn’t born for another 9 years and missed the first era of the franchise, I don’t think I have seen or heard of a more self-immolating decision than what unfolded here.
To come out and all but say that you knew this guy wasn’t putting in the work, but you decided to make him the 5th highest paid player in the league based on an IF…..and then compounded it by trading the guy you “posthumously” now christen as irreplaceable, and laud for having tried to fix the situation…..holy fucking shit Batman!
If they don’t flush this guy, even at a loss, then this franchise can go the way of the Grizzlies for all the fucks I’ll give.

Somewhere in NW BC trying (yet again) to trade a(nother) Swede…..

Re: Re-booted SKYO approved pipe dreams and trade ideas
Slight mistake on my part from previous post...
Kyrou was drafted before Thomas, not the other way around.
Nevertheless, I stand by my praise for Doug Armstrong for drafting both cornerstone players in the second round and mid-first round. Then signed both to very good, identical long-term contracts that left plenty of room to build out the rest of their team.
That's the way you do it. Money For Something.
Really like both players and I think Thomas is especially underrated.
Still rooting for the Jets though.

Well, I'll be honest - if you do decide to move on - I really won't miss the one take you've had all year. It's gotten old. And so damn repetitive.

Neighbours too, another late first rounder.Carl Yagro wrote: ↑Thu Apr 24, 2025 8:22 pm

Armstrong also gets GM cred for striking while the iron was hot and making a ballsy early season coaching change when Montgomery was cut loose.
And offer sheeting Broberg and Holloway.
All around proactive motherfucker.
Speaking of the Blues I've always liked Buchnevich.

Bolduc seems fairly decent too.
Notable picks by Armstrong since 2010 when he officially became Blues GM (400 or more NHL games played):
Schwartz (14)
Tarasenko (16)
Edmundson (46)
Parayko (86)
Carrier (57)
Barbashyov (33)
Fabbri (21)
Dunn (56)
Thompson (26) - Traded to Buf with Berglund, Sobotka, 2019 1st and 2021 2nd for Ryan O'Reilly and a Cup
Kyrou (35)
Thomas (20)
Not a single pick in the Top 10.
Offer sheets -> Ginormous ballz, not giving a single F
(*Also the GM with the best winning percentage in Dallas Stars history)

I don't miss any of my Neighbours, tbh.
Sorry, I should have BOLDUC the minimum 400 games played for ya

Snuggerud with Dvorsky, Stennberg, Dean, Lindstein in the pipeline. Throw in the Holloway and Broberg steal. Now that’s proper GM’ing instead of the hurried, rush rush shit we see here. Patience is a virtue.
Keep your fucking draft picks, ffs!

Well fingers crossed they don't flush that guy, and we see a rebound year from him. That'll solve most of my problems.
