Management may have to add sweetener to get NJ to take on the EP40 risks. Watch him take off in NJ, but that’s the price you pay if you want to create a scenario like Rutherford alluded to in the presser.

I used to be a fan of that.
Now, hell no. Both of Quinn's brothers look to be lemons. Talented players, but from what we've seen so far, we got the only Hughes brother who has durable shoulders.

I think NJ wins the trade with the 2EPs. DPetey is going to be a beast and Petey will have a comeback next season.
At his best, I like Petey more than Jack. But if the trade means they get difference between Quinn resigning and not, it’s probably worth doing.

Jack is an exceptional center who will get better and better. I highly doubt both EP's bring back Jack Hughes. Throw in Willander maybe

If Jack Hughes has not had 2 serious shoulder injuries at 23 that is an all day every day trade for a variety of reasons.
Imho.
Fantasy regardless and inequitable.
Far more likely Quinn ends up there than the opposite.

They are potentially an intriguing trade partner though. Both teams have needs that align with the others strengths.

Yup! I think Canuck fans need to start prepping.

What do they need that we have?
Besides Quinn Hughes?
They've got 3 young defenders in their system already in Nemec, Casey and Silayev so wouldn't be drooling over DP or TW as must haves to release something we want.

They best hang onto the young Dmen they have this summer if there is a chance of losing Hughes next summer.
They’ll know by the time Petey’s NTC kicks in whether Jack is coming this way, figuring Petey would need to be part of the return to NJ.
If Jack ain’t here by this summers end, then it’ll be Quinn on the move to reunite the brothers if he so chooses.

Nemec's trending bust. Casey is gold and I dunno about the saline kid.
They'll try and float a Nemec trade as he's underwhelmed badly and the heat is on. Mercer would target but not for Wilander or Dpete or even Mancini for that matter.
Honestly I don't move any of them I move the 1st and build around this promising young D. It's so goddamn hard to acquire quality defensemen.

He just turned 21 for goodness sakes.
We will anoint a completely & unproven Willander who has never played a pro game as our next top 4 RHD but a 21 year old 2nd overall pick is a bust 2 months beyond his most recent birthday.
Like a 21 year old Shane Wright was trending bust....maybe not so much anymore.
A 22 year old Quinten Byfield...not anymore.
Kent Johnson.
Should I go on?
The "Saline kid" as you call him is a 6'7" 210 LB 19 y/o Russian drafted 10 o/a last year.

I'm not the one calling him (or any of those names...that was Cheffery)a bust. It's the Jersey fans and media. He's struggled and people are getting nervous.
I'm not calling him a bust I'm only pointing out how they may see there could be a need for D thus open to moving some forward talent to acquire.

Not to go all Doc Strangelove on you but the quoted is a statement not a reference.
So, how would one know what you were referring to when reading that other than it being your opinion?
And I did not say you called the others out, I'm drawing referred comparables to my giving up on talent to early point.
I've read of Jersey fans calling him out.
I've read of Jersey fans saying chill the fuck out he's a kid.
2 years ago in his first year of pro hockey he had 12 G and 34 P in 35 GP and then 4 points in 6 playoff games.
If he'd only kept that up the past year and a half he'd be well regarded.
