Marco Rossi - C - 17g 4g 9a 13p
Zeev Buium - LD - 31gm 3g 11a 14p ( #12 overall 2024 NHL Entry Draft)
Liam Ohgren - LW 18g 0g 0a 0p ( #19 overall 2022 NHL Entry Draft)
First impression is that we're fucked unless that 1st rounder comes up big.
Come on...you're better than that....taking 18 games for the Ohgren kid and not looking backwards is Vancouver media style reporting..
For the 4th time.
He had 19G 18A in 41 AHL games last year.
..and he has history with Lekk.
Let's give the kid a chance before we write him off.
I thought you put the Rosie's in the drawer not shattered them.
And you should so some research on Buium as well.
There is a very solid potential future top 2 with he and Willander left and right side...

I appreciate the fact that Hughes gave them this much notice about his intentions. You consider the number of players who haven't said anything until they are in the final year of their contract (or final months) and the team is fucked and running around trying to do a sign-and-trade or trade-and-sign.
I don't fault him at all for wanting out.
It confirms my suspicions that committing to Pettersson was akin to scuttling a ship.
I'm listening to Canucks Central right now and they are doing a Q&A with Allvin and fuck if they aren't holding his feet to the fire.
Media: Patrick, do you have a culture problem?
PA: What do you mean, on the team?
Media: Yeah, on the team. You've had 3 key leaders leave in under a year. First two players had a fight and you had to trade Miller, then Tocchet decided that he wasn't staying as part of that fallout, now you've had to trade your captain.
PA: No, I don't think so.....ramble ramble deflect and talk about adapting and changing.
Follow-up from another: 2 years ago you had 105 point season, tons of all-stars on the roster, and now 2 years later dead last in the league.
I just wanted someone to ask straight up: How do you feel about being part of the worst management group in team history and having one of the worst records in terms of going from a contending team to the laughing stock of the league?

Accept the return folks, it was the best one

When I looked up his stats on eliteprospects I completely missed seeing that line in the stats.
So yeah, we should be giving him a bit more of a chance here.
But Donny, I can't do it man, he's a Swede!!!!

More Buium...
The defenseman was a first-round pick (No. 12) by the Wild in the 2024 NHL Draft and had 48 points (13 goals, 35 assists) in 41 games while averaging 27:03 of ice time per game as a sophomore. He was named a finalist for the Hobey Baker Award, a First Team All-American, and selected as the National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) Player of the Year and the NCHC Offensive Defenseman of the Year.

Might as well start taking orders for the remaining vets.
I wonder if any US born player will want to wear this jersey for the next half-decade or so?
Poor Mëds, it'll be all Swedes and other Euros... the small, soft and frail kinds.

Sent to Lever earlier today;
How do you turn this mess around, the team is back to the contract situation that Benning inherited, too many NMC/NTC but this time for mediocre sea of granlund players or injury prone silver lining stars. Benning had aging vets with trade protection and not wanting anything to do with rebuilding. Then there is the $11.6 million elephant in the room. His $'s are under the combined and unmovable Twin salaries as they eased off into the sunset. Does that get eaten as the Twin salaries were?
New management to unwind the sea of granlunds contracts, get what ever you can from the elite turd line centre, LTIR Demko for life and start again like it is 2014.
Do it all over again in 2036...
Sent this evening
Geriatric/RoboSwede dancing, holding hands, snuggling ... we got our 1-2 C
It has only taken three years and cost the Canuck's their near term future and a generational defenseman.
This is only necessary because of incompetence.
A band aid on a self inflicted wound that requires a pressure bandage.
2x crap shoots, 1x drop in the sea of Granlunds, 1x decent prospect
Can you blame Hughes for wanting out? Management Bure'd him. He Kesler'd them.
dickster waiting for more info to show up on the webs for AI to compose a truly arrogant fuck post lacking all semblance of original thought
If I'm Lukas Reichel, I'm calling my agent

Yup.
I'll just wait for more heads to roll... love it if it involved people wearing suits. Might be too much to wish for new ownership, but one can hope.

Topper's post.....
His point regarding Hank and Dank is well taken, while Pettersson makes $3.4M less than the combined salaries of the Twins, it should also be added that he currently produces 40 points less than they were combining for. So even harder to cover that.
On Hughes "Kesler'ing" them.....
He may well have had he possessed any trade protection, but they had more options and they had more time. I don't know if Hughes asked for a trade, but he gave them a runway's worth of notice that he was going UFA.
On that note.....
There's some speculation that Hughes was never staying, or at least had never made any firm commitment to do so. If that's the case, why did they make him captain?
On Hughes ownership of this.....why did he accept the "C" if he wasn't staying?
