I would imagine Tamara Lich believes so.
Lich was found guilty under the Criminal Code, and I have no sympathy for her or the others who broke the law....

My sympathy is for the city and businesses, their empoyees and anyone else who suffered personal or fiscal harm and am encouraged that the nearly $300 million class-action lawsuit is moving forward after an appeal to have it thrown out was unsuccesful...

If the class-action lawsuit is certified and goes to trial it will be interesting to see if Pierre Poilievre is named as a defendent along with the donors and organizers of the illegal protest...

I'd be curious to know what the accumlative cost to taxpayers is around the country due to illegal protests, for example the Fairy Creek illegal protest in BC cost over $18 million in policing and enforcement costs not to mention the millions in lost revenue the forest companies reported which led to lost revenues to contractors and employees being laid off...

We protect the right to protest under the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, but not illegal protests and when they are we should demand compensation for the cost to the taxpayers...

I had lost faith in Canada until the truckers showed up. It was a brief return to having balls but soon thereafter I felt neutered once again…

Ah, I had thought you might have meant that.

Something we are not on the same page about for sure.

When you frame it that way, perhaps it would have been a better thread title with authoritarianism in place of fascism.
Interesting, that would certainly make it a little less black & white.

Still, as a Canadian, I don't feel like I have less rights/freedom than before Carney was elected, and don't see that changing. So would still disagree.

Again, it is wording and interpretation.

I do not think that we are worse under Carney than we were before. I think we are worse off since Trudeau was elected…..in terms of “authoritarian-esque” policies I see Carney as a continuation, and I admit I base that on the opinion that he was indeed an advisor to Trudeau who only distanced himself from the party when Trudeau began to plummet in the polls.

Carney played a bigger role in the Stephen Harper Government than he did in the Trudeau Government...

Regardles, it only makes sense that a person with the qualifications of a Mark Carney be courted by whatever Government is in power....

One of the complaints about Harper was that his governing style was authoritarian‑leaning which is also how Pierre Poilievre governs the Party today...

btw, one of the reasons I supported Harper was that he did run the Government in an authoritarian populist kind of way with the caveat that he was a highly competent person ...

Which is why I have no issues if Carney governs in a similar way...

Which is also one of my biggest concerns with Poilievre...he wants to govern as an authoritarian but lacks the substance to do so effectively nor does his cabinet have much substance to offer...

What were some of the authoritarian laws/policies from the Harper government?

His silencing of Gov. scientists was the first stone that tipped the scales, and lost my vote.

Very authoritarian.

I'm failing to see what that has to do with Harper or Carney Mëds.
