They defended like playoff winners defend. Lotta good battling by the boys in their own zone and good sticks. Couple brain farts, but DeSmith didn’t have to make too many five-alarm saves.
They played pretty smart. Coulda used a EN goal, but they didn’t get undisciplined about it.
Let them rest up and have the matinee game o. Sunday.

This win was like a Psy Op of the Preds. The boys racked stupid shooting percentages on Saros on what I call quasi-designed PP plays, while their backup and the whole D stoned the Preds till late.

DeSmith came up big. Ya he lets out rebounds but he played a strong game. The D was absolutely monstrous in front of him, and those shot blocks. Special teams the difference tonight. Our PP came up big and our PK was perfect, especially that 2 man advantage.
I admit, I didn’t think we could win a 2-1 game with DeRebound in net. Glad to be wrong.

To start with Brunette legit appears to be one helluva coach....he had a ton of influence on Florida and their growth a couple of years back, prior to being kicked aside as second fiddle to Maurice.
New Jersey crashed and burned this year after he left as Ruffs Associate HC and now the Preds win 47 games in his first year there and really started rolling in the second half of the season once systematic unity occured.
Solid in goal, a legit #1 D, some heft and beligerence, guts and glory in Reilly, a game breaker in Forsberg...post season experience.
If I'm the Canucks I'm worried.....
