“If the rate of expansion one second after the Big Bang had been smaller by even one part in a hundred thousand million million, it would have recollapsed before it reached its present size. On the other hand, if it had been greater by a part in a million, the universe would have expanded too rapidly for stars and planets to form.” - Stephen Fucking Hawking, Bro’s!

Is the fusion of chromosome 2 the smoking gun for intelligent design? The missing pair that became "somehow" fused allowing the rapid evolution of early mans cognitive development has to be by design. It's not a random event where you can find examples of the partially fused pairs leading up to the fully fused example we have in our DNA today.
All other great apes have 46 chromosomes/23 pairs except mankind.

Docs God and Chefs alien life are likely the same engineers that created us. We are a spacemans experiment

A combination of. I’ve always maintained we are (the universe as we know it) nothing more than a mere science project sitting in a Petri dish in some lab. Thus this person/thing whom created our universe that is floating in a Petri dish is looked upon by some as a God who will give us an extended new life after we croak while some (atheists) consider this engineer of our time space continuum as nothing more than a bespectacled Einstein type who has know magic wand that can provide us with an afterlife. There lies the confusion. We were created, yes…scientifically, but a heaven does not wait for us.

Why would partially fused pairs be persevered or a required evolutionary step?

Maybe God himself is in a petri dish belonging to a higher god. And that god is also in a petri dish of an even higher god, and so on, ad infinitum. God says, via the Scriptures, that there is no-one above him, but how would he know, if the higher god keeps this knowledge from him?

Not sure this qualifies for the 'Aliens' thread, but hey, "Made us look"

Well this same God says He Personally created this entire physical universe from His place on high (spiritual world)
(and continuously holds it together)
... so yeah, it would follow there is no one above Him in this universe.

The hint is in the augmented strand. It is directly responsible for cognitive function and self awareness. A mutation at that level would have evolved slowly over a long period of time as it had with previous mutations of that scale
The fusing happened essentially overnight

Why an evolutionary creep?
Why not an evolutionary jerk?

Interesting - God created himself. From nothing. That makes total sense. The logic is overwhelming me, I need to sit down.

The fusion happened in a single male. One man. The actual Adam. In a very small and inbred group...
Fascinating stuff really.

Why? Just because he said so? Maybe his god is hanging around this universe and is waiting for Judgement Day to reveal himself and put a stop to this punishment for sin nonsense. You don't know. God doesn't know. God's God doesn't know. It's all unknowable.

That is the way evolution works.
He bred, his offspring survived and may have had an advantage over their peers. They bred and their offspring survived. The advantage took hold in the population.
There is just as likely a chance that some freak accident befell that individual or his offspring and the trait was lost.
