This transformation to a leaner front office has been obvious from the beginning of Benning's tenure. Why is it now an issue amongst his detractors? Is it because they see the new on ice talent and prospect pool now coming into focus and need to redirect their vitriol?

I'd like to see the market find more ex players or ex manager types to bring up the percentage of the media who excel at anything other than tiddlywinks...

The overall quality of the media is lame, but in their defense when they have to talk hockey and Canucks hockey almost 24/7 much of that is on the fans as much as the media....

Jason Brough was hyping the Twitter #firebenning shit a couple weeks ago as if they were the voice of all fans. Brough and I have been having it out in emails with each other.

But anyhow you see all the HF dingbats over at that twitter feed - PG Canuck, Dimjim, Melvin etc., I think I’m gonna jump into the fray.

It occurred to me the other day, we Canucks fans have been spoiled for so long with excellent play-by-play guys - Robson, Hughson, Shorthouse. I would argue we've had the best consistent play-by-play coverage in the league for, what, 40 years? We've had very good colour commentators - Meeker, Larscheid, Garrett.

For a time, we had the best highlights guy in sports with Don Taylor (just talking about that one limited role of highlights).

So maybe its only fair that the rest of our media has been garbage.

Holy hell is 1040 (except Moj and Taylor) and it’s wingnut followers ever gunning for Benning to be fired. It’s like Canucks HF hitting the airwaves

Once upon a time Van had the best sports show in canada. The channel 13 sportspage was fantastic.
