Does it have anything to do with Joshua's impending return?

I mean sure, this is the move they could be making to create DJ space in the moment but there is also a more definitive Sprong issue here as others have noted.

In the end, all things considered and as I noted above, love the definitive proactivity.

Maybe we will a Dak and Lekk show Saturday.

Decisive and emphatic Management.

Recognizing and admitting what they perceive as their mistakes.

Word is Sprong wasn't Mr. Popular in the room either. Good on management to move on it, rather than rag the puck, hoping they may get something better for him. The fact they moved him out this way speaks to wanting to get him out of the dressing room ASAP.

Yeah...it's all a bit odd(ish).

I mean Ricky has past experience with him, knows his room and would have signed off.

Maybe he hurt EP's feelings?

:look:

agree with the above for sure..

that said, I'm curious what went on over these 10 games.. I mean everyone knew he was a project, and he didn't seem to be playing any more poorly than was advertised.

They must have really thought they could work miracles to have him sorted out in 10 games.
Does chef Allvin have something else cooking?
Well they do happen to have a twenty year old goal scorer who has no business being in the AHL toiling away in Abby at the moment. Plays the same position as Sprong.

Check out some of the goals he's been scoring lately in the Abby thread. The kid has world class hands. And he's smart.

I reckon the coaching staff felt they’d seen enough of Sprong, and management opted to rid themselves of a $975k contract.

I agree Donnie, this regime has shown a willingness to cut their losses and move on.

Except when said losses are over $10M.

Sprong trade allows cups of coffee for Bains, Lekkerimaki, and Raty to continue, but I expect the baldies will continue to slow cook their prospects unless one explodes on the scene. But ultimately, when games get tight, they’ll end up with players Tocchet likes - more veteran, low maintenance, defensive players like PDG, Aman, or maybe Sammy Blais back up in forth line roles (or a trade).

What is Brock's status? When he had his blood clot issues in the playoffs the Canucks were on the verge of ordering Sushi of they got past Edmonton.

A spot now open for Joshua and a short term call up of Sushi.

Song was always a project, management had always said they knew his weaknesses and would work to fix them. Time team out before progress was achieved.

He won't be missed.
