Nope. Trump would be best for Russia, and we don't want a stronger Russia.Strangelove wrote:I dunno, when random Swedes are so hardcore anti-Trump, I gotta think Trump would be best for 'merica...
Man if your old buddy OMS could hear you now!Per wrote: we don't want a stronger Russia.
Way back, during the viking age, a bunch of people from Roslagen, an area just north of Stockholm, crossed the Baltic and headed down toward Kiev. They were known as Rus, and ended up founding what is now known as Russia. Big mistake. I mean, for the first few hundred years it was all good. We controlled the waterways and trade routes between the Baltic and the Black Sea, and made good money selling slaves from the British Isles to the people in the Eastern Mediterranean area. But generations passed and the Rus interbred with the Slavic people in the area, forgot their Swedish roots and then started to oogle Finland. They kept fighting us for it, and eventually, in 1809 stole it from us. We've had problems with the Russians since the dark ages. It's not like it's news. And Putin has made it clear he wants to expand the Russian territory. He has already stolen parts of Ukraine, and started civil wars in both Georgia and the Ukraine to destabilise those countries. We''re moving more troops to Gotland and are talking about bringing back mandatory military service. It's a real problem.Strangelove wrote:Man if your old buddy OMS could hear you now!Per wrote: we don't want a stronger Russia.
This is a big part of the reason why I love me some Trump!Per wrote: And of course a US presidential candidate talking about dismantling NATO and having no problems with what Putin is doing in the Ukraine and Syria makes us concerned.

Amazing what you can do with selective editing!Strangelove wrote:
Michael Moore is on the Trump Train!
http://www.salon.com/2016/10/22/michael ... than-ever/Using his charm, Moore helps his audience relax by seeing their views as valid. He also uses a very gentle self-mocking humor to remind the audience that white males make up only 19 percent of eligible voters. Counting himself among those who are watching their power diminish, he directly addresses the anxieties that have driven much of the pro-Trump energy.
But Moore then walks his audience through the consequences of what happens if they just cast the “fuck you” vote. “I get it,” he tells his audience, ”you wanted to send a message. You had righteous anger and justifiable anger.” Likening the election of Trump to Brexit, he then cautions the audience to seriously consider what would happen after: “Good night America you’ve just elected the last president of the United States.”
Next comes a parody news report of what it would be like on the day of a Trump inauguration. The reporter tells us that the “shitshow started within minutes.” Trump orders aerial bombardment of all Mexican border towns, establishes stop-and-frisk checkpoints in all inner U.S. cities, and deports Rosie O’Donnell to American Samoa. Then the reporter explains that Trump is refusing to stay in the White House, so he leaves his kids and Pence and heads off to Florida. “By day’s end, 20 million Americans who stated they had voted for Trump signed an online petition asking for a do-over election.” The reporter then signs off saying it is their last broadcast since the station has been taken over by the new Roger Ailes-headed network, “Trump Channel.”
