Media click baiters or your legit sources?

Interested to know.

A guy being proactive and standing up for himself can be painted as an issue very easily.

He's also but a boy yet.

As well....

So does EP40.

Read today the Canucka are "afraid" to trade him in case he "gets his game back" and they end up with egg on their collective faces.

I really hope that's bullshit.
Has something to do with him declaring himself a generational player, the next one. Then he slid to 4OA and did not handle it well. But he was a captain for world
Juniors team and has been a prolific scoring as a junior. The money on him was a cock sure arrogant attitude. So far in the NHL he has not walked the talk but maybe an Eichel situation where he and the team just do not see eye to eye and are a poor fit. But I remember when he was drafted and some commentators said he dropped to 4OA as there were concerns about his lack of maturity and lack of leadership. If any of that is near true RJ won’t go near him. Now if he does end up on the Canucks then I’d tend to dismiss the talk.

But it won’t be for Pettersson. Does anyone think he will waive to go there?!well his wife is American so who knows.!

Yeah...the draft day episode.

Tough to critique 18 year old kids for being immature.

Not everyone is Caleb Malhotra.

He was well renowned enough to still go at 4.

Of the dudes picked ahead of him Slafovsky and Cooley were the right picks and Nemec possibly less than Wright currently but I get the RD thing from the Devils point of view.

From our perspective Wright is RFA after this year with a lower end entry level contract...if he's a problem, dump him...I have a feeling he grows up and succeeds at some level though...also we get rid of a boat anchor which may just be a win in itself, all things considered......where's the overall risk?

...and yeah...more or less shooting the shit here..he won't waive to go there I don't imagine.

On another note apparently (allegedly) RJ and the Kings are still talking EP but the Canucks are not satisfied with the give back to date.

Perhaps the scuttlebutt that Vancouver wants (believes they need) some semblance of a "win" on any EP trade in case his game comes back is true.

It would be a pretty solid win to add Wright for EP40 but I doubt that's in the cards. They'll want a first back and that isn't anything Van should pursue.

Too bad, I can see him being one of those guys that thrive once removed from the pressure of being a top pick that doesn't instantly doninate

If an offer sheet is signed does the team who the player is currently on have to match value and term?

So Bedard is UFA at 25 correct, so the 2030 season after 7 accrued years. So I'm sure Chicago wants him locked for 8 years right now. What if we threw an offer sheet at him for $11.9m that takes him to the 2030 season. The compensation for that is two 1st-round picks, one 2nd-round pick, and one 3rd-round pick. Chicago has to match.

The rumours of him wanting $17m likely has to do with him working into his UFA years on an 8 year deal.

So he plays in Chicago for the next few years, then he's UFA in 2030 and ready to compete a little more.

Yes I realize he has to agree to the offer sheet and sign it, but maybe he really would like to come home and suit up as soon as he can!

Short answer is yes they have to match term and cap. To make an offer sheet though you need all of your own required draft picks so you have to plan ahead to make sure you have the picks you need or the offer sheet is invalid.

Yes.

When a team tenders an Offer Sheet to an NHL Restricted Free Agent (RFA), the player's current team has exactly 7 days to match it exactly. The original team cannot alter the salary or term. Once matched, the player is signed to that specific contract and cannot be traded by the team for one calendar year

Intriguing AP.

Could be done.

I'd be worried about his shoulder currently though.

Ok so we're missing our 2027 second, but based on my quick search it's unclear if that second needs to be the following year.

Either way, if we offer sheeted $12m until 2030 Chicago can't let him go even for the 4 first rounders which we have!

donny - I guess the good part would be we'd have until 2030 to see how the shoulder holds up.

Unless they don't match lol....

Oddly enough it is the Hawks who have our 2027 second.
