He completely sliced 10 of the 12 tendons at the base of his hand and required reconstructive surgery. Hence my duct tape gloves to hands comment a bit back there!
Jesus - even worse than I remembered! Maybe not quite at the level of a Berard eye injury but that's more career limiting than I remembered. Thanks for the link. Also good for him coaching in Davos. Thanks for the updates guys.
I remember an interview with him saying he couldn't hold the stick. If he learned to fall down easily, Holden could still play for this current squad.
It was a shit injury that ended his career. Bad luck.
Bad luck defines the club's drafting history as much as bad selections. Bourdon, Holden, Hodgson - hell, IIRC Juolevi had post-draft back issues or something that hampered his development as well.
Embarrassed the game not once but twice and we ask why HGs hate us. Took 17 years to forgive the first time...approaching same duration since then but no indication next pardon coming anytime soon, rather the opposite.

Can’t explain the pre ’94 hate tho.
If you mean the riots, they sure forgave Montreal a lot faster.
Whoever designed those rings, good job. They're verrrry nice.
Ridiculous that the owner had to be hounded to deliver to the players what they rightfully earned... and it took almost a year. You'd think a sad-sack franchise with a 55y record of futility would be all over the celebration asap.
