Ah, I think me and JPP are cool. He knows where Don, I and others stand on the player issue with regards to the current sad state of the team.

But... I really don't understand why those two seem to not like you very much

40 pages on 40 in another thread, this is exhausting.

His skating was never great, that is true. But he did have a very visible burst to his step in his early years that's been completely absent the past two. Beyond the eye test, I think Drance had pertinent numbers to back this up. Which is not coincidentally reflective of his production. I don't know if it's tied directly to health issues or simple laziness, maybe a combination of the two. It's the inconsistency where one day he looks on the verge of returning then completely uninspired/uninterested the next that's just so damn frustrating. And the drama and the noise of it all. We've gone in circles over the same shit over and over again with seemingly no end in sight. Until either he figures it out or gets moved for someone else to deal with.

I can see arguments for either ditching him now or waiting till after the draft to see who we end up with at 1-5 along with the rest of the new hopefuls to better assess everything then. Leaning toward end this chapter now just so we can all take a breath. But while moving on alone is a win, every decision at this critical juncture matters to the future. A bag of pucks ain't helping no matter how exasperated we are. If max or something of value ain't coming back, I'm keeping the drama going for at least till after the draft. But that's just me.

I’m less polite than you are about it I suppose.

'Tuzzi's right...we should keep this conversation in the EP thread.

My bad for partaking...however minimally.

Ok, we'll try to keep things contained.

Sure, 24 months is exhausting, but more than a decade of the previous GM? How the heck did we all survive that?

Me too. Maybe we all need to take a sabbatical from this particular topic.

No chance.

Yeah we're trying to get away from that Hank.

This discussion at least has merit still.

In the right place.

And yeah Tuzzi, it will indeed go on ad infinitum but if we contain it to the Petey thread then people have a choice to read or not and don't get "exhausted" as you stated so well.

I'd just move the posts buts it's an absolute pain in the ass, especially from the phone.

Carrying on....

We talk about this player because its topical. The team is in its current state and the media is driving traffic with rumours of teams being interested in our guy. I don't believe any of the so-called rumours are fabricated.

People are tired of the drama of this player's last 24 months. Yeah, I get that. My point has always been that other Canucks and past players have been marginalized for much longer, with much more vitriol by both the media and some of the fanbase, sometimes not even due to performance. Why can't someone else be criticized and must always be coddled? I've always maintained that.

People even have often self-censored or taken hiatuses to avoid more drama here.

Anyway, will try to keep it in one place and stick to the trade rumours as much as possible. There are legitimate trade reasons the player himself and his agent are likely considering and maybe open to (ie. winning during prime age instead of 3-5 more years of rebuild purgatory), which I've mentioned before.

For some reason we tend to continue to ridicule and chastise ex players as well (JTM).

Speaking of which don't look now but Elias Lindhom is:

9G 26 A 35 P in 41 games played with a 55% FO win rate and is a plus player.

Overall, I think our mgmt team did pretty good with KS44. We signed him for nothing as a UFA, now we get two 2nd rounders for him. Not bad, not bad @ all. That pretty good asset mgmt. :P

It only seems like that because we never get to see proactive moves like this that other teams seem to do every year.

The last time I remember something along these lines was when they moved Burrows. Since then we've hung onto deprecating assets and overpaid to resign them or let them walk for squat.

Pathetic

Won’t upset me at all.. I love how this board loves to put words in peoples mouths just to stir shit. All I am simply saying you can’t trade EP right now. Gotta have at least one NHL center.. especially if the dreamers think we draft top 2 and get an nhl ready winger
