That particular shotgun only actually has a 3 shell capacity (technically 3+1, but I don't keep it chambered), as it's barrel length is only 12.5" - shorter for HD use, don't need it to be accurate.
But you are correct, if it was a 5+1, or larger capacity tube, I would just fill the rest with slugs.

I prefer a 9mm carbine for my go-to self defense rifle. Non restricted, short barrel like a shotty but semi auto and you can roll with a 10 round mag. More holes in dooshbags per second!

If you're not too worried about home damage or getting your old ass graped, I think it would be fun to deal with unwanted guests by blowing out all the lights and hunt them down with night-vision and grenades.. from a distance of course.

Not quite accurate. The law now prevents current hand guns from being sold, or being willed down to your kids. This is effectively a full ban with an 80 year phase in window,. It will eliminate legal hand gun ownership.
