Re: 2025 Canucks Off-season
Silovs isn’t eligible for waivers and the way he is playing someone is going to take him if management sends him down at the beginning of next season.
They should be trading one of their top three goalies after Abby’s season is over - Arty? or role the dice and move Demmer for a bigger return? Demmer for a 2C might be worth it if they really believe Silovs has turned the corner.
Either way, good on Silovs for making himself a consideration again.

You aren't getting a 2 C for Demko or Silovs/Chtyl.

Re: 2025 Canucks Off-season
Demko is a top-5 goaltender when healthy. He's worth a 2C.
Goalies don't rank as high as 1C or 1D, but when you consider some of the 2C's in the league, the value is there. His health does devalue him, but chances are Demko would command $8.5M (or more) in free agency. In terms of payroll, that is an elite 2C.
Agree on Silovs and Chytil. The former has no resume at the NHL level outside of a playoff round in which his struggles with tracking long shots through traffic was badly exposed. Chytil is one decent hit (or awkward contact) away from missing most of a season. There's no value there.
Somewhere in NW BC trying (yet again) to trade a(nother) Swede…..

He hasn't been healthy much. He has one year left on his deal. He's soon to be 30. If he tears it up next year and agrees to an extension that is reasonable, he might get a low end 2 C.Mëds wrote: ↑Thu May 22, 2025 11:09 amDemko is a top-5 goaltender when healthy. He's worth a 2C.

Going with Lankinen and Arty would be a ballsy move. Arty has been lights out in these playoffs so far. I wouldn't mind seeing them pull the trigger if they can get a decent C for Thatcher.Blob Mckenzie wrote: ↑Thu May 22, 2025 1:36 pmHe hasn't been healthy much. He has one year left on his deal. Re: 2025 Canucks Off-season
It would be Thatcher + a good prospect to get axguy you want.
I've seen talk of Anthony Cirelli but why is JBB moving him and making a massive hole behind Point?
Mavrick Bourque could be a target. Kid will be a good player, though I think Dallas will want that ELC with the amount of kids and picks they've dealt. That's why teams build up good pipelines, so they can use them as trade collateral as well as keeping the flow of good young kids.

Re: 2025 Canucks Off-season
I’ve been talking Mavrik Bourque for awhile but I’d be surprised if Dallas traded him. I’d love to snag Kulich from Buffalo but that would require a D-Pete or Willander to move that needle, same with Bourque.Blob Mckenzie wrote: ↑Thu May 22, 2025 2:34 pm It would be Thatcher + a good prospect to get axguy you want.

As I’ve said, we would have to endure pain to fix the mess of our top 6 or we plug it with a UFA like Granlund? I’d rather re-up Suter and chase a Granlund than keeping up with the regular assaults on a draft pick and prospect asset pool. Enuffs enuff.
We ain’t getting much for Demko, especially with his injury run, age and pending UFA status. That ship has sailed. I still say we use the 2025 1st on Ravensbergen or Iankovic

Re: 2025 Canucks Off-season
My son’s Latvian friend compared the kid to Mason Marchment. He was just one age level above my boy when he played there. Probably a better shot than Ronalds Kenins back in the day as far as Latvian forward prospects in Vancouver’s system.Megaterio Llamas wrote: ↑Thu May 22, 2025 1:50 pmInteresting.
