The primary goal of this site is to provide mature, meaningful discussion about the Vancouver Canucks. However, we all need a break some time so this forum is basically for anything off-topic, off the wall, or to just get something off your chest! This forum is named after poster Creeper, who passed away in July of 2011 and was a long time member of the Canucks message board community.

Jean Chrétien is still the only Prime Minister I ever liked. Telling W to fuck off over his disatrous Operation Iraqi Freedom is the stuff of legend.

Blob always assumes I've not spent much time in 'Merica.
Not sure why he does that, or why it matters.
But I'll finally answer dat dere.
I'd say 20-some odd weeks, so close to half a year in total.
Most of that in Californication and Birch Bay.
And get with the program Blobster, Lord Trump is a hoot!
Doc, you are very guarded. People occasionally mention outings and vacations but until now I've never seen a mention of you leaving Abbotsford. Do you have a crib in Birch Bay? I was going to buy one about 15 years ago. I missed the boat. Just a pad and I'd get a 5th wheel dropped. I love it down there. And having a rec property so close is enviable. I'm jealous of my friends and family having places at Pitt Lake. Iwas looking at a place in Kihei in 2002 and dropped the ball.
So you have a home in Oakland?
I'm terrified to go to the US. I've vaycayed there for decades. Finger printing, facial recognition, people detained and imprisoned for days-to weeks. There's piles of hooligans with badges at the border with heavy duty artillery to keep that 25 kg of fentanyl out of the AuS.

I’ve been across a bunch. It’s the same as it was. If you have a criminal record, or are a criminal or being stupid (drunk/high in airport, forgot you can’t take weed in, etc) you will have issues at the border, same as always. The only difference now, is the Canadian media is running a fear campaign on it. You now hear about EVERY bad guy/idiot who has an issue.
Last week, my company did a convention down there with 10,000 people. Not an issue with any of them.

The 'Chain of Command' is the chain I am going to beat you with until you understand I am in charge.
I don't have a criminal record. I won't hop a bird without being drunk or high. I've entered by vehicle several hundred times. Probably by plane upwards of 40 or 50. I have heard and read too many horror stories of folks dipping into the US since the Tard got in and missing out on half their trip to Vegas or Seattle. and I don't need the hassle. I was back and forth every week for seven years as my dad and stepmom moved to Bellingham. But its not just the fear, I can't spend money down there until he walks back his aggressive stance on not only this country, but his own, and the rest of the world.

There’s shit happening that did not use to happen. Last week two different Swedish bands had to cancel gigs in the USA because band members were refused entry. I’ve never heard of that happening before.

Meh. I can't comment on what people post on the internet or youtube for political reasons, just what I experienced. 10,000 Canadians in Texas 2 weeks ago, ZERO issues.
I find that most of the hit pieces on youtube (even if they don't have a political media orientation) are politically aligned by a partisan wingnut (left or right).
The Trump Triggers are real on the left.
The 'Chain of Command' is the chain I am going to beat you with until you understand I am in charge.
We have massive reporting bias. Now that Trump is in power, the media is reporting -every- negative interaction at the boarder. That doesn't mean the numbers have changed. I'd like to see real stats before taking a stance. It's like crime/drug reporting. If the media thinks crime is up, they report very crime. If crime is down, they selectively cover a few stories for ratings.

What stat is that? Number of persons unlawfully detained at the border? I don't think that's even a thing. Border staff can detain anybody they want. And highly unlikely the USA is going to keep stats on how many times it fucked up. I think we're going to have to rely on anecdotes only.

Anecdotes are synonymous with the term "media driven data". Just pick the incidents that match the narrative and claim it's everywhere.
From my perspective, this had gone from a "once a blue moon" event to "twice a blue moon" event. Media want you to believe its every other person event. The truth is somewhere in between, but anecdotally, the truth is closer to my perspective.

How is Dump making out with the tariffs?
Interesting how wall street has a new investment strategy "TACO" - trump always chickens out.
Coined by Financial Times journalist Robert Armstrong in a May 2 column, the tongue-in-cheek term stands for "Trump Always Chickens Out." That phrase is meant to describe a pattern of stocks plunging when the Trump administration announces stiff new tariffs, then surging when Mr. Trump eases up on them days or weeks later.
And this news:
Judges continue to decide cases against Trump, with a three-judge panel at the U.S. Court of International Trade ruling today that President Donald J. Trump’s sweeping “Liberation Day” tariffs are illegal.
The judges, one appointed by President Ronald Reagan, one by President Barack Obama, and one by Trump himself, noted that the U.S. Constitution gives exclusively to Congress the power to impose tariffs.
I mean ...... he's got the economy on a yoyo. I've never seen anyone with so much control over things but has the IQ of grubby old Stan Smith runner. George Costanza with a wig thinks he's got a bad salad. He's built like Rosie O'donnell with a cocktail weenie and has skin like Manuel Noriega, has all these supermodel wives and exces, while wearing the same shitty suits, trying to clamp people's hands when shaking them, wanting to take over a country that fed his in 1812, and gets so triggered by talk show hosts and entertainers to the point of turning purple with rage.
I'm curious how SR Sez feels about the PFPOTUS.
Pus Filled President Of The United (Excited) States.
