International hockey

Post by Per »

The 2025 IIHF World Championship will be held in Stockholm (Sweden) and Herning (Denmark) between May 9th and May 25th.
It will not be the same level of compete that we saw in the Four Nations thingy earlier this year, but should still provide some reasonably entertaining hockey. Sure, the roundrobin features some weak teams, but once you reach the elimination stage things tend to heat up a bit.

I have tickets for the two quarterfinals that will be held in Stockholm at the Avicii Arena, previously known as the Stockholm Globe Arena.

Official site: https://www.iihf.com/en/events/2025/wm

Grupp A – (Stockholm - Avicii Arena)
Sweden
Canada
Finland
Austria
France
Latvia
Slovakia
Slovenia

Grupp B – (Herning - Jyske Bank Boxen)
USA
Czechia
Switzerland
Germany
Hungary
Denmark
Norway
Kazakhstan

Yeah, I was surprised. The name didn't ring any bells. I figured it might be some trade I'd missed and that he was assigned to Abbotsford.
According to eliteprospects.com he's a predator. I just copied the list from a hockey site, but I'll fix it.

Both Sydney Crosby and Nathan MacKinnon have decided to join Team Canada for the World Championships in Stockholm.

This should be a pretty good tournament! :D

Sweden has added Jacob Markström in goal.
They had to turn Ullmark down, because with Markström we already have three goalies. :o
