I think Edm will make a go at it, this series is destined for 7.

Caps knock the Canadiens out in 5 games.
The Habs had a good season all told, a step forward.

TB eliminated.

Yup.
Top 3 paid guys all locked up with exceptionally good contracts. Can all play multiple forward positions. All are Canadian.
10 draft picks in lineup. Only two of them are over the age of 30 (Binnington, Parayko both 31yo), the rest are all under 26. The rest of the lineup are from astute trades and signings.
This group has cup pedigree and the front office is run by competent people.

Monty's teams always go balls out to start a series and always fade as they wear down prematurely from spending it all so early
How about that Luongo like flubber Helly let in there to snuggy

Re: 2024-25 OOTS: Playoff Edition
Lol, wrong St. Louis.
Not that long ago, I'm sure many Habs fans questioned Marty's coaching pedigree.
Did I mentioned that I also went to the Habs game? Amazingly, someone jammed and my biz partner couldn't find someone at the last minute. Crazy to think nobody wanted tickets against the visiting Habs in 2025. People used to kill each other for this once a year visit.
But even with our newly formed "improved" defence, I couldn't help but watch the MTL speedy smurfs dominate us. I can't even recount how many times our dmen got turnstiled or parted wide for multiple Habs breaks. Hronek was abused more than anyone of the group.
Suzuki is such a underrated playmaker. Caufield is tiny, but speedy and has a high-end goal-scorers IQ to always find open areas to unleash his shot. Gallagher, at his age, still able to take the puck to the net whenever he wanted. The final score flattered us. We had nothing up front doing anything.
...and these Habs were only a young middling team at this point of the season.
Their big tough guys didn't have to do jack-eye all night because our team is so buttery soft they wouldn't even have the temerity to question the other teams' conviction at any point during the match. Not even a disparaging word.
This game was literally the final straw for me.
Oh yeah, both the Oil and Habs fans were way nicer and more respectful than Canucks fans. Not even exaggerating.

....and you are not even noting Hutson, who could legit be the next Makar/Hughes, a finally growing up Slafkovsky and of course Demidov.
Not to mention a prospect list which is ranked as high as top 5 in the league by some.
Habs have us crushed.

Re: 2024-25 OOTS: Playoff Edition
Habs look good and Gorton and Hughes have done a wonderful job there. Gorton had more to do with building the 2011 Bruins that were good for a decade, than anyone. A couple of wanted him after he got knifed in NY. Smart hockey guy
This hockey is way too fast and mean for this powderpuff team in Vancouver as its currently constucted.

We may as well settle in for a dark decade of pain.
