Just Not ready

The primary goal of this site is to provide mature, meaningful discussion about the Vancouver Canucks. However, we all need a break some time so this forum is basically for anything off-topic, off the wall, or to just get something off your chest! This forum is named after poster Creeper, who passed away in July of 2011 and was a long time member of the Canucks message board community.

Carney is visionary.
Absolutely he is. If all you did was lower taxes, fees and bureaucratic costs, you might get houses built. But, unless you have a large public program, you can't syphon tax payer's money into your friend's pockets. That's vision, my friend.

Trump's staff is saying $600B in tariff revenues. That's on $3T of trade, so about 20% tariffs across the board on average, before accounting for decreased trade due to tariffs.

And how is that supposed to replace the $2.4T in income taxes collected in 2024? You need 80% tariffs to achieve that!

Inevitable and not surprising but the question of Carney's support remains.

The RCMP have said they are looking at the issue, I doubt it good anywhere but the damage to Carney is done and this will keep being brought up.

When are the debates?

Can't speak for all countries, but here in Sweden the nationalist politicians tend to be petty criminals that have turned to politics.

The Swedeen Democrats have been very outspoken about how immigration leads to more crime.

A newspaper did some digging and could conclude that while it was true that immigrants were almost twice as likely to have a criminal conviction than a native Swede, Sweden Democrat MPs were four times as likely as the average Swede to have a criminal conviction!

It was mostly assault, but also a fair amount of embezzlement and tax fraud.

So yeah, if the French nationalists are anything like ours - I'm not surprised.

Fair enough. Thankfully you don't have the far-far right candidates that are seen in Europe and down here (that I know of). Also consider that there could be a correlation between far right candidates getting charged and the possibility that maybe, just maybe, the far right attracts the worst people?
Some of these nationalists are far left too eh Corn. Like the president of Slovakia, Robert Fico. He's an old guard communist, and a lunatic globalist has already tried to kill him. It was a bad stabbing that put Fico in the hospital. Lula in Brazil is kind of left I think too. And Maduro in Venezuela is way left of Lula, in fact Lula hates Maduro and blocked Venezuela from BRICS membership because of that hate.

Anyway man, this left/right stuff is kinda played out. It's much more nationalist/globalist in my opinion. 'Course I could be nuts, many would say so ;)
Lula is more of a social democrat whereas Maduro is an old school communist. Whereas both are flavours of socialism, social democrats believe in changing society through democratic means wheras communists really don't give a flying **** about democracy and tend to be authoritarian. Communism and fascism are pretty much the same thing, but with different catch phrases. Social democrats believe in democracy though, and therefor have more in common with liberals and conservatives than with communists, even if they share many of the same slogans.

So yeah, social democrats and communists have always hated eachother.

And the thing about nationalist parties in Europe whether left or right is that most of them are funded by Russia.
Putin is afraid of the European Union and would like to break it up. Therefor he has been aiding nationalists.
He has underestimated the sense of European solidarity though. After the invasion of Ukraine, many nationalists, like Le Pen and Meloni, have distanced themselves from Russia and now support Ukraine's fight for independence and sovereignty.

Ortega of Nicaragua is another communist leader in this hemisphere. The US likes to put the sanctions squeeze on these guys, it's not an easy path. Putin does like the European nationalists, as does Trump. I think we'll find Trump will also support them as much as he can. I don't know that Russia supports these leaders in Europe but I wouldn't rule it out.

And of course Putin and Trump are great buds :)

Carney looks completely beaten in this clip, keep the questions coming at him.

https://x.com/junonewscom/status/1907100199790452967

This is why there is such a short campaign. The more Carney has to face the public, the worse he looks.

How cynical does the Liberal Party have to be to believe they could put this guy over on us?

Wilson-Raybould summed it up.
"new guy is looking like the old guy"

Carney is a neophyte at this, but his backroom are Trudeau vets, so no surprise "it is a teachable moment."

I love how his answer to the question was to give a summation of the events already contained in the question.

How can more Canadians not be sick of their leaders unwillingness to answer questions?

So much for Carney building infrastructure in Canada or an energy coridor.

Carney said this morning the "No More Pipelines" Bill C-69 will stay in place.

Five more years of Trudeau if this guy wins.

It is amazing that the Liberal leaning media spent much of the past week pushing a fake story of internal strife in the Conservative campaign and that Campaign Chair should be removed. And the Liberals follow through with Chiang and copying Trudeau's "teachable moments", copying Trudeau's failed housing plan and now copying ever more Conservative talking points.

He even recycled the debunked fake executive order signing video resetting the rate on the consumer portion of the carbon tax.

Canadian Press rakes him over the coals on Reconciliation and he fumbles badly standing in Indigenous/Metis strong hold Manitoba. No 1st Nations announcements or meetings scheduled.

That's a Pow and a Wow in Batman TV.

Who is running this show?

Now Alberta Premier Smith is saying that Carney acknowledge to her less than 2 weeks ago, that the No More Pipelines" C-69 was a major impediment to resource development. Today he says C-69 stays in place.

And yet this guy is ahead in the polls. It just doesn't make any sense, other than it indicates that 41% of (mostly eastern) Canadians are stupid.

Or that the polls are fake news. I stopped paying attention to them years ago.
