The Vancouver Canucks have recalled Jonathan Lekkerimäki. The club also reassigned Arshdeep Bains to AHL Abbotsford.
Maybe he will be filling a void created by a blockbuster trade? I'd keep him up. He is a way better player than the Abby Plugs (Bains, Aman Karlsson), and he can use the experience

And he can play with whatever team makes the playoffs, if Abby makes it.

3.25m off the cap for next year. He was behind two Petey’s and a Hughes at LHD.

Rag traded the SJ third rounder they held, so it will be the first pick in the third round.

Seems low - hardly worth the trade.
Carson Soucy has been traded to the New York Rangers in exchange for a 2025 3rd round pick (SJS)

They had to make this trade. Nobody gets to their 3rd year of a multi-year contract under this regime.

Can't set some kind of precedent, y'know

It will be a high 3rd round pick.

Don’t mind this trade. Canucks have a fairly good top 4 now and they can get 3rd pairing depth D on July 1st.

I can see that he's redundant with the youth coming up, and a salary dump - I guess a high 3rd might turn into something (not likely)

Yeah that's just it Corn. There's no room for him, young Pettersson and Mancini have to play.

I think the Nucks should have held on to Sushi7. Our D is still not very good and he's a pretty good defender; he still have one yr on the books and is very good value for the cap hit. If you want to make the playoffs, u need guys like him. Also, having him in the lineup allows us the flexibility to give our youngers guys like D-Petey & Mancini more time to slow cook on the farm. Maybe mgmt really want that $3M cap space and feel it would give them some options in the offseason, who knows.

I'd only trade CS7 if we were offered an overpay, like a high 2nd round pick. I'd rather move out Suter & Fartbort. Not sure we can afford to move out another D-man though if we have any playoff aspirations. I would like to get something for PS24 and wouldn't mind going with Raty instead. I think Raty can become like a Suter, except bigger and hopefully more skilled.

This might mean that management's playoff aspirations are low. :)
Yah, true.
