OTW-GDT: VAN at LAK. 26/02/25 7pm PST SN

Post by JelloPuddingPop »

Tough match-up. Canucks not playing their best, LA is 14-1-1 at home in their last 16 and have only lost 3 at home this season. Getting into must win territory though, out of a playoff spot due to Calgary winning a couple, Utah breathing down their necks, only 2 pts behind. Win tonight, and Van is back in. 6 pts back of LA for 3rd in the Div. Could make it 4 with a W.

Van is 3-2-1 in February, are averaging 1.83 goals per game and allowing 1.67 goals per game. Think they can score more than 2 tonight against a very defensively sound LA team who are 5-0-1 in February and are averaging 4.33 goals per game while allowing 2.67 goals per game.

Quinn looks like he had a full practice yesterday, hopefully will be back in the lineup I'd suspect. Welcome boost.

Forward lines shaken up - Boeser on the 3rd line. Not a pump and dump situation here. Hoglander takes his spot on Petey's line:

DeBrusk – Pettersson – Höglander
Joshua – Chytil – Garland
O’Connor – Suter – Boeser
Bains – Blueger – Sherwood

Hughes – Hronek
Marcus Pettersson – Myers
Soucy – Mancini
Elias Pettersson (D) – Forbort

Soucy sat last game, looks to be back in tonight. Hopefully Myers sorts his shit out, and stops taking penalties or he might be next to sit.

Van with the win, 3-2(OT).

Love the optimism Rats.

I can't see this being a W for the good guys though.
Somewhere in NW BC trying (yet again) to trade a(nother) Swede…..

Hopefully Hughes plays, other than him this team is boooooring.

Bring Sushi back up, I need something!

Well, at least we are hard to score on. Bodes well for the playoffs, if we can get there.

Yep - we need Hughes in to make the team watchable these day - but, there's always a hope that others will step up. We're still checking out the new guys.

Will they get more than 5 shots in the opening period?

Will they score more than 1 goal?

10 minutes ago Squire Barns just said Hughes was not playing. I was sad. Turned to the game and they say he’s playing. I am happy.
With seven D, maybe Quinn can play top six centre :)
