Pay me.

But seriously, it’s draining. I would never turn down free tix before but even last year my interest started to wane… and somehow they had their best season.

Unless it’s a must see generational player where I might never get another chance to see live, like Crosby, I’d just rather avoid all that effort.

Speaking of which, I didn’t get to see McD at his best but that’s because the match up didn’t allow him to wind up with speed. The line did a great job on those guys all night. Garland was a mosquito, but Suter, huge props for his 2 way play. Quietly effective.

However, I watched for McD’s vaunted lateral crossovers and super fast hands… just absolutely amazing to see live.

Yeah I agree.

Going to the rink became a chore as opposed to an event long, long ago.

The entire process is draining and you end up being around people that you'd prefer not to be within a platform realm where they oft perform at their idiotic peak.

...and that's from a guy who has a preferred locale available to him.

I can't even imagine sitting in the stands.

It's called getting old. No patience for bullshit.

Also, the 70-in OLED, 7-speaker surround sound, La-Z-Boy with massage, heater and built-in fridge, and your favorite comfy house slippers can't be beat.

As much as I enjoy following the team, I couldn't imagine having season tickets and going to most/all of the games.

In the past, I've enjoyed some of the playoff runs live ('82 especially) - but since I moved south, most of my games have been AHL, USHL, ECHL. I've traveled to see the Canucks lose 4-0 in Phoenix, 3-0 in Denver, etc etc, and just don't have the interest in making a big effort to see them live any more.

Locally, we have the Lincoln team in the USHL in an old rink. The 13th row is the furthest from the ice and costs $17. It's not the NHL by any stretch, but the league is pretty decent with more 1st rounders coming through each year.

I go down to the Winter Club and watch the older kids (Midget and Bantam) play sometimes when I'm on the Mainland.

A few comments;

Nice bounce back, possibly National TV coverage for the pump and dump.

It is a shame that Hughes Hart Trophy performance this year will be wasted on a team mired in mediocrity.

Demko's style has changed and it may have cost both goals. He is usually much more upright and square with his shoulders. He looks like Lankenin with his slight slouch and one shoulder dipper lower than the other.

I'm willing the give Miller a pass on the Winnipeg game as one of those nights. That's more cholla cactus than petunia to take it on the chin from his coach and come back with a stellar game.

A very strong game from the much maligned Vancouver defence. They stood strong against the Oiler down low cycle for the cross crease of low slot pass. Meyers deserves special credit, but Hronek wasn't far behind. Forbert was good for a 3 pair guy.

Brock Boeser is lost on Scooter's wing but is opening up shots for DeBrusk to go cold on. We all knew DeBrusk was streaky and now we are feeling Bruin fan frustration.

It wasn't the final few seconds of Garland tormenting McDavid that lead to the cross check. It was an entire game of being tormented by Garland. UW said it, Garland doesn't get enough credit as a pest.

Edmonton always plays close to the edge, lately teams are finding ways to push them over the edge. Bouchard, Ekholm, Nurse, Draisaitl and McJesus are all vulnerable to snapping.

Lost in the hype, the Bluger line was solid generating chances and relieving pressure on the D much of the night. They didn't spend many shifts hemmed in.

Scooter looking a bit more engaged and confident. Carrying the puck, trying to make plays, trying to buy time on the forecheck for his mates to change. Baby steps? Though at 45 games and +$6.3M in, baby steps is unacceptable.

...so, in a nutshell what you're saying is we want their relationship to be more like ours and less like yours and Docs.
Petey seems like the type to build beautiful relationships, Miller not.

So I guess that makes you Petey and me Miller.

Well too bad for you Pete... make-up sex is where it's at! :mex:

I couldn't watch the game; looks like I missed a real doozie. SN highlights barely show the 3rd, so I had to watch the Hockey Day segment on the Myers and McGayvid crosschecks. The panel seems to think both get two games, but that's a good point about the Ovie game coming up. I can see 97 getting a break as his was less brutal than Myers'.
Thanks bro, appreciate the appreciation.

Yeah, it was a doozie fer sure. Always like to see the underdog grind one out against McGoliath and get under their skin. Will over skill. I’m not usually violent but I LOVED Myers’ program was set to termination when a crossed eye diving weasel approached with gums flapping. Fermé la Bouchard, beatch! 8-)

And the live show sure as hell isn't worth the price of admission anymore.

Especially if you've got the setup you've described.....need to use it to maximize ROI. Although, with the cost of a live game these days you probably see that return by game 41.

Yah, if I had money to burn and had season tix, I'd prob just go to a handful of games and give the rest away. :P

Too lazy and don't have the time to go to all those games, happy just watching them on the big screen. :D
