Mëds, your loyalty to your opinions of Pettersson is commendable but if you could maybe make some minor temporary adjustments even if they ain’t true to how
you really feel about him? It’s just so that when every time I’m about to read one of your posts about him I’m not going ‘here we go again’ kind of thing.

I don’t really care if you go “here we go again” or not. I adjust my opinion when I actually see it needs adjusting. Not every 48 hours depending upon the windchill and humidity…..unlike some.Chef Boi RD wrote: ↑Sun Jan 05, 2025 5:52 pm Mëds, your loyalty to your opinions of Pettersson is commendable but if you could maybe make some minor temporary adjustments even if they ain’t true to how

I'd like to see a thread dedicated to the current moves of the current management. Just have a fucking discussion. And thread ban any assholes that bring up Elmer, Eye Bags or Genius. If you can't keep up and talk about the current management and discuss what they are doing, there's the door. Just about every thread has a salty genius comment. "Hur Dur lawn couches and he's enraged " 'There's pizza sauce and ketchup everywhere'
"Did I do it right Dude"? Hey man they pump raw sewage from Okanagan Lake to Skaha...."

In an ideal world, both Pettersson and Miller would iron things out, pull their heads out of their asses, and turn their games around. I don't think we're far from that world, but I don't think we'll be there in the near future. With the blueline in a shambles with the top 2 injured - and some would say still vulnerable with both Hughes and Hronek in lineup, management may opt to deal one just for the sake of making a decision on the file and move on.
Which one goes depends on how long management thinks the team's window to contend is, and where they are at in that window, when it comes to having to decide who to keep and who to deal. If management sees their window as short, they may opt to keep Miller and deal Pettersson. Maybe make a deal for a Jarvis, Fantilli or Leonard while targeting that #3-4 D they need. A package around Pettersson could get those guys.
If management sees their window as long as Hughes can keep skating like he does, maybe you deal Miller for that stud D and a prospect. IMHO, that's an admission that the team is taking a step back in its trajectory and focus on next season; I don't see the team going farther this year than last year without Miller. That may make sense if management believes Willander and Lekkerimaki can make the jump in the next year or two. That said, I wager management does this only if they are confident Pettersson can sort himself out and hit that next step. Based on Allvin's comments, I don't think they're there yet on that question.
They have until the deadline to make those decisions if management wants the trade to bear fruit this post-season - and it's not guaranteed they'll make the post-season.
This season will either see a turning point in the team's trajectory and they take the next step, or will become an ugly stretch that has us looking forward to next year. Hopefully Allvin will have kept the 1st rounder in that event.

Judging by your comment it's not yet time to move on.

I haven’t mentioned Benning in a coons age (Chef has moved on) but yet I feel like I’m being accused of having so.

Just 20,000 posts about nothing but Elmer and Eye Bags. But sure not in a coons age. Is it FUCKING POSSIBLE to engage in a thread and not goon it with Elmer shitChef Boi RD wrote: ↑Sun Jan 05, 2025 7:02 pm I haven’t mentioned Benning in a coons age (Chef has moved on) but yet I feel like I’m being accused of having so.

Sportsnet needs to fire this guy for dumbing down the average IQ of mankind"The Canucks are definitely, definitely looking at the market for both players and you should be prepared for all outcomes," Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reported on the Saturday Headlines segment on Hockey Night in Canada.
"There's really three [options]: Neither gets dealt, one of them gets dealt, or both get dealt. That's on the table. I don't want to predict the likelihood of any particular scenario, but all three of those outcomes are possible."

Re: Canucks News N Notes 24-25
I for one, am not 100% sold on the entire ‘the hate is so strong they can’t play together’ thing. The Vancouver media loves to hate, and hates to miss a hate story. This could be the usual overblown ‘Hate on Hate’ media. Not saying they want to play tummy sticks, but they have both had career seasons while the other is on the team. Nobody fucked someone’s wife of girlfriend.. they are professionals, and have both said it’s overblown. Winning changes everything. When the team wins, everyone gets feeling good. When the team battles injuries and is playing a little under .600 hockey, the media gets excited. It’s like they had already planned the cup route because the team made the second round. Has this team played with a roster icing over 75 million twice this year??!? It’s a .580 team with an average on ice cap hit of around 60 million. With that kind of lineup, EVERY TEAM would show its flaws.Lancer wrote: ↑Sun Jan 05, 2025 6:23 pm In an ideal world, both Pettersson and Miller would iron things out, pull their heads out of their asses, and turn their games around. Should they trade a center, Make it a hockey trade. you don’t need a stud defenceman back, we already have one. You need a 2nd line center who plays a heavy game and shows up in the playoffs, and a second pairing RHD to push Myers down to 3rd pair. Hughes is the game breaker, after that, if you make the playoffs, you need warriors and depth.

Agree with this. With the injuries we have taken, this is not the year to push the chips in. The prospect pipeline is getting a bit thin, and this team has a habit of giving our prospects a higher ceiling potential than reality has in their skill sets.

Joshua placed on IR retroactive to Jan 3 and Lekkermakki recalled on an emergency basis.
Hughes set to return Monday against Canadians.
edit:
Joshua is said to be week to week. He suffered a leg injury last game.
