This one was either a complete "whoosh" for me, or you meant to say Florida instead of Tampa.

When did Brock show mental/emotional fragility?Strangelove wrote: ↑Mon Dec 16, 2024 5:42 pm I think the CC consensus has been that Petey's problems are between his ears.
And I concur with that consensus.
However, he's not alone on this team in that department.
In fact, 3 of our 5 best players
... Petey, Miller, Boeser...
have displayed signs of extreme mental/emotional fragility.
Demko, one of the other 5, could possibly be injury-prone.
But I suspect he's also a nut... imagining this popliteus issue to be much more than it is.
Thank God that, last but not least... Hughes... is a rock!![]()
I don't like the idea of "trading low" on Petey, but if an offer knocks your socks off... ?
But then I'd say the same about either Miller or Boeser.
(can't trade away a top goalie in his prime)
(also, most goalies are certifiable anyway)
Having said all that, sanity is overrated and all of the best people are mad.![]()

As I read this to start the 2nd period of the Canucks vs Avs game Demko is putting on a clinic in his 3rd game back.

When his father got sick... and eventually passed.
He fell waaaay too far into a hole in my humble opinion.

But did it cause you to struggle in your chosen career?
I was very close to my brother, when he passed I was hurting big time but managed to apply myself all the harder.

Nah. The kid who grew up super close to his dad watched him decline rapidly beginning in his 3rd season with the Canucks.
That's gonna eat at any young man who is trying to find his way in a very high pressure fishbowl and then at 25 years of age has to bury his dad.
I haven't got a clue what Doc does for a career, but I am fairly confident saying that he's not having to perform in the limelight the way a NHL player does in a Canadian city.....especially one drafted in the 1st round to a team that has high expectations as it's searching for life entering a re-tool.
