Yeah...I never had any particular affinity for Luongo.
He played some stellar hockey during a variety of occasions especially when he first arrived (that last OT game versus Anaheim for instance - the one where he actually shit his pants instead of the bed) but it quickly became clear his mind was fzr to warped to maintain an elite level consistency or step his game up when it mattered most.
Truly unfortunate.
He always came across as weak minded and was appalled by opponents laughing at his fragility.
Turco got in his noggin pretty good and after that point it became strategy for the opposition. Byfugly loading his dumpster onto Luongo's chest was another example
Luongo was whipped. My family, my family. Or was it really all a ploy to garner more of the green. If Wifey was that tough, one would think she would have had a problem with the urge to gamble he had. Nope.

Seems like wifey just didn't want him 4000 kilometers away doing God knows what with God knows whom in his free time.
Tough wives don't let their filthy rich husbands enter poker tournaments Mick?

Won't make the triple gold club though. He has two world championship golds, but only an Olympic silver.
His generation has been robbed by the NHL pulling out of both the 2018 and 2022 Olympic tournaments.
I doubt he makes the cut for Sweden's 2026 Olympic team at age 34, but you never know.
Lidström was 36 when he got his Olympic gold medal. 42 when he retired.
Whatever you do, always give 100 %!

OEL sucked when Tocchet was his coach in Arizona and Vancouver.
The way he is playing doesn’t reflect well on the coach. Must be a personality clash?
Tocchet will be flipping off the TV when he watches him lifting the cup.

OEL was still playing top pairing min under Tocc which he could no longer manage while playing at a high level. He’s is now playing sheltered, bottom pairing min with Fla and is surrounded by a deep D core. He’s not useless like Ericsson became, he just can’t play at the same level he was once could.
OEL had two good seasons in Arizona. For whatever reason that has defined him in peoples minds. The rest of his career, he has been steady and should have been a 3-4 ceiling guy.
Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.
I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.
Captain Kirk is my favorite goalie in Canucks history hands down.
That game 1 win against the rags... something like 50+ shots against and he stood in there for the massive win. He never let in any cheesy Luongoes that's for damn sure.
