Who's his bestie?Madcombinepilot wrote: ↑Wed Oct 07, 2020 6:20 pm It’s the NMC that scares me the most.
Being burned by Louise is enough.. what if he waived to be here with his bestie, and they just decide to drink beer and cash cheque’s? Suppose his play drops off like Louises did?? You think Louise and his 6 mil is hard to move, imagine what it’ll be like to move an 8.5..
Somewhere in NW BC trying (yet again) to trade a(nother) Swede…..

I think there's still a deck rope wrapped around his ankle.

Then it would be a really shitty situation if the trade happens and then Markstrom doesn't come back.....I mean for OEL.Strangelove wrote: ↑Wed Oct 07, 2020 6:41 pmMarky and OEL are best pals.Mëds wrote: ↑Wed Oct 07, 2020 6:40 pmWho's his bestie?Madcombinepilot wrote: ↑Wed Oct 07, 2020 6:20 pm It’s the NMC that scares me the most.

Yeah, I'm sure the plan is to have both of them here.

I agree. The stalling is to extract every concession possible before signing off. Its nothing new.
If you need air...call it in
Re: Canucks News N Notes 2020-2021
So Benning's plan here is that he wants Marky to stay cheap so he pulls the trigger on bringing in his best friend, who also happens to be one of the top 15 defensemen in the league, which addresses another big need on the roster.
It's also unlikely that Markstrom will jump ship first thing on Friday with this potential trade in the mix.

So is the rest of the crew gonna get on board with this after the trigger is pulled?
Or are we going to have to split into a pro-OEL board and an anti-OEL board?

Re: Canucks News N Notes 2020-2021
I thought we had a pretty good day. No blunders on the trade front and Jurmo looks like a decent prospect in the third round. Stech going the Ben Hutton route coming off a too lucrative second contract isn't surprising. He can come back at a reasonable price or we can bring in an equivalent like maybe Matt Benning. Got to be a the right price though, plenty of similar players available in the pool this year.
Now if we can just avoid the traps, be patient, and wait for what promises to be a bargain hunter's season unlike any other we can come out of this looking pretty good for next season.

Well we are in a decent spot right now for free agents. Young and upcoming core that surprised plenty of people. Knocked off the defending champs, then came within a hair of doing the same to the Western Conference favourites.Megaterio Llamas wrote: ↑Wed Oct 07, 2020 6:55 pm I thought we had a pretty good day. If you're a free agent that is looking at having to take a short term contract at a reduced rate thanks to Covid, then why not roll the dice on easing the sting of missing out on a few million by joining a team where a Cup ring is possible.
