Great could be a stretch... but he plays with bums like you used to at Oppenheimer Park. Either way he is darn good and worthy of that contract IMHO and you were dead wrong on the three guys I mentioned that you called scrubs. Walk away Goomba..., you’ve been owned :mex:

Oh yes it is. :mex:
What do you think his asking price will be if he scores at a 70 point pace next year?
I don't care what his asking price is. :mex:

That's right, bring in OEL and tell the kid who you made sure would have no arb rights/eligibility for offersheets that's his cap. :mex:

Take $8.25M x 8 or fuck off kid. :mex:

$7.25M for a guy scoring at a 50 point pace!!????!?!?!?!?

If Hischier hits his draft year projected potential then he's likely going to be a bargain in a couple of years, however right now he's one of the most overpaid young guys in the league.

The only way I can see Hughes taking a team friendly deal is if they make it to game 7 of the conference finals next season (whenever that may be) and the likelihood of being on a long-term contender makes him willing to chop a mil off his total.

It's important to remember that Hughes is American and there are plenty of competitive teams south of the line that would pay him his asking price in a tax-friendlier environment.

The NHL should really be making salary cap accommodations to offset the difference in taxes for teams to stay competitive.....I mean if parity is the name of the game in a cap world.

Nico is overpaid by about 1 mil right now, if he lives up to his 'hype/potential' then it will be a good signing. Agree that both Petey and Huges are on course to be paid more than him, I do think around 9 mil is possible, especially in the flat cap era. A home town discount with amount to around .5 mil savings on each contract.
