I don't get it, Rangers have heaps of cap space, and are projecting to have 7 or 8 ELCs on the roster next year. After next year, Staal, Lundqvist and the Shattenkirk buyout would have given them over $20 mil anyways, why give up a 2nd now?Hockey Widow wrote: ↑Sun Sep 27, 2020 12:44 am Rangers trade Staal plus a 2nd pick to Detroit for future considerations.
That looks pretty much like the order I have those guys in. Seth Jones is turning 26 this year though so I don’t know if you can call him a young guy. Shea Theodore, while a very good player is 25.Curmudgeon wrote: ↑Sun Sep 27, 2020 10:49 amJonesChef Boi RD wrote: ↑Sun Sep 27, 2020 9:46 am Rank the leagues best young D-men

Provorov, MacAvoy, Sergachev, Werenski is too low on that list, Dahlin and Chabot are too highCurmudgeon wrote: ↑Sun Sep 27, 2020 10:49 amJonesChef Boi RD wrote: ↑Sun Sep 27, 2020 9:46 am Rank the leagues best young D-men

Sounds like #Oilers have made progress in talks to bring Jesse Puljujarvi back into the fold.
Discussion still mostly centered on the hockey 'fit' part of it, but my guess if/when he returns is that it's eventually on a one-year deal in the $1.2-$1.5 million range.
I would probably be willing to part with Jake Virtanen in return for big Jess.SKYO wrote: ↑Wed Sep 30, 2020 2:42 pm Franky Seravalli talking about royaldude's fave player. ayee

Seems a few of those Finnish youngsters from the WJC gold medal team are having trouble fit into the NHL. Laine, decent scorer, but seems to be a difficult teammate. JP, just hasn't lived up to the hype. Juolevi, injuries, and unable to really meet early expectations.Megaterio Llamas wrote: ↑Wed Sep 30, 2020 3:51 pmI would probably be willing to part with Jake Virtanen in return for big Jess.SKYO wrote: ↑Wed Sep 30, 2020 2:42 pm Franky Seravalli talking about royaldude's fave player. ayee

Straight one for one swap.
Too steep a price. Jake might be topped out right now, which is fine. But PoolParty might never ever play in the 'Chel again. Baertschi and a 5th for the Pool Boy.Megaterio Llamas wrote: ↑Wed Sep 30, 2020 3:51 pm

Not Jake but maybe Josh Lievo who also needs a contract. Risk for risk.Tciso wrote: ↑Thu Oct 01, 2020 8:44 amToo steep a price. Jake might be topped out right now, which is fine.
