Bruins interested in Canucks Virtanen (e4)....
Per a source, then Bruins and Canucks are working on a deal to send Jake Virtanen to Boston...No word on return as of yet...
It's like a burger with mystery meat. Might smell OK but I wouldn't necessarily eat it . Needs more accompaniments anyways.
Eklund should be run through a meatgrinder.
Eklundburgers should be force-fed to those who link to his rumours.
There was one summer everyone was certain Bieksa was a goner from the team and the rumours were flying.
The next season there he was still in the line-up.
I expect the same to happen with Jake.
I’m not sure about Toffoli, but I’m pretty sure both Marky and Tanev are going to market.
If that’s the case, there should be room to make a deal with Jake.

If JB really is a ‘one trick pony’ right now (about moving salary), then it’s possible we move out the crap and keep most of the good.
The 'Chain of Command' is the chain I am going to beat you with until you understand I am in charge.

Yeah.... he’ll have to attach a major asset to move out the Air Thief. To me that poison pill need to be top priority if the plan is to clear out money. I guess we’ll see but at least Sutter and Sven expire in a year. I’d give up Ratbones in a heartbeat( and I like this player) to get rid of the Air Thief. But that wouldn’t be enough.

Loui played his best hockey in Boston so they may feel hes worth a risk if Van takes a bad contract back to go with our sweetener. Virtanen could be enough.
I could see Benning eating a fat one year sausage and throwing in virtanen. QH and EPs new contracts wouldnt kick in for another year right? Who do they have thats overpaid with 1 year left?
Keep in mind Virtanen and Louis out is 9 million for the next two years. Virtanen will be hard enough to trade..... think Kassian. Louis is a nightmare. You are going to have to attach Demko or Ratbones/Gaudette + a 2nd to move that lazy cunt.

Virtanen has size, speed and 18 goals this year. There is always interest in that kind of player, somewhere.
If that is the price to move Loui, then forget it and keep him. He is a waste of money, but maybe we can just send him to the minors? I know we still have to pay him but then we free up a roster spot for someone, anyone! who can contribute more that him.

virtanen & eriksson for colin miller & be done with it. sabres have $33M in cap.
If you were Loui, and had a15 team no trade list, don't you think buffalo would be on it?
The only teams that will take him are likely on his no trade list. So if he wants to control where he goes and not wind up in Utica, he's gotta mutually terminate.

possibly, but at this point I think JP Barry said - bro, just accept any team at this point if you want to stay in the NHL.
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.

The price would be a lot more than Jake to move the Air Thief. If that was the price Benning would take it and run like Ussain Bolt.

With Ottawa terminating Bobby Ryan today, I wonder if that makes Ottawa good trade partners now? low dollar salary for high cap hit. Loui (+ draft pick?) to Ottawa for a 7th. I do understand they want to make space for their young guys too, but they might want 'some veteran leadership' there too.
As you said, I am sure Loui knows not his days in the NHL are numbered if he is picky.

That's a good point - but then, if JP thinks he's got a deal for Loui on a new contract in, say, Dallas for $1.5 mil x2, Loui has to consider giving up $1.5 mil in actual dollars (approximately) to avoid playing in Buffalo or Ottawa - probably a smaller gap, when you factor in the state tax level in Texas.

That's pretty much the case so he has to either be open to every team, be prepared to mutually terminate to pick where he lands, or pack for Utica. Take his pick but there's only going to be so many openings in the NHL. Barry needs to act fast and let's hope he does.
