Wait for it......

Hughes is probably a more valuable asset than even Pettersson now. Hes blown away all expectations and appears to be getting better by the game.

How high can he fly is the question now

As far as creating offense goes, I have to give the edge to Hughes. I'm actually having trouble thinking about HOW he could get better (other than fewer miscues). His shot will get a little better as well - but he's already at such a high level.

Petey is great, of course - but I enjoy watching Hughes on the ice more than any Canuck since Bure.

4th in Defenseman scoring now (just behind Hedman).

Calder is possible- Norris is inevitable. Hart is inevitable.

Too soon to call the 2018 draft but Dahlin is still my #1. Toss up between Quinn and the Russian for me. Ditto Petterson and Cale. Pretty even imho. Either way those two picks have completely changed the picture in Vancouver. They are the main reasons this team has taken off. The off season addition of Miller is #3, tied with Jacob becoming a top 10 goalie.

The thing with Hughes is that the Canucks were sure he was the real deal. Fans were split. But to say he has surprised everyone this season would be an understatement. Not even the Canucks expected this type of year from him this early in his career. I don't know many fans who thought he would be this good.

His passes are harder than some players shots! His passes are tape to tape most of the time. He dangles with the best of them and his skating is amazing. Ya, he is that good. He is definitely a franchise player along the lines of Pettersson so you have to build around those two. Boeser has dropped in my books but then again I've always seen his warts. I love his potential but his overall game is lacking. There have been positive signs this season that he can round out his game but if you can sell high, high on him you have to consider it. It would be a bold move for sure but if you can recover a 1st and a grade A prospect you pull the trigger. If, as others have said you bring Toffoli back.

I just don't think he is on the block. And thats OK too.
The only HW the Canucks need

Your adjustments are horrendously slow. Cut your losses. You know Hughes is the easy choice between him and Dahlin. Stop being a stubborn old fool

What losses? Dahlin is on a horrific team. Plays 3 min a game less, hits like a truck and is strong in his own zone. Their PPG isn’t far off each other this year. Maybe watch a game outside of 604. Svechnikov is having an amazing year. You are the biggest homer on the board. Tunnel vision

No..., I just watch other games. You don’t. As usual you’re making a spectacle of yourself.

Hughes - 8 goals 41 assists 49 points
Dahlin - 4 goals 33 assists 37 points

“Dahlin hits like a truck” - Doyle

According to HockeyDB

Dahlin - 6’-3” 193 lbs
Juolevi - 6’-3” 198 lbs

Apparently Olli is Birdbones #2

Again... it’s doubtful you watch Canucks games let alone any other team.

He absolutely can. The Chef hasn’t ever seen him play.

Hilarious that every player outside of this city sucks.

Yes, it was nice as well after the lotto draft had the Canucks fall back in the JB era, no luck at the lotto at all! but they still managed to snag some key pieces anyways to rebuild this franchise with no top 4 overall picks at that - unlike the Caps Ovie 1 OA/Backstrom 4 OA, Pens Crosby 1 OA/Malkin 2 OA, Hawks Kane 1 OA/Toews 3 OA which kept those franchises top tier for years and years.

Petey 5 OA, Hughes 7 OA, Boeser 23 OA  ...GAUD 149 OA
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.
