Re: The Official CC "All Thing Leaves" thread
William Nylander next season's cap hit is more than:
Johnny Gaudreau
Nicklas Backstrom
David Pastrnak
Alex Pietrangelo
Nathan MacKinnon
Brad Marchand
Taylor Hall
Aleksander Barkov
Sheesh I imagine Marner and Matthews will skyrocket past those as well.

Re: The Official CC "All Thing Leaves" thread
The question is... is he the 6th or 7th best player on the leaves?
The Nylanders just bent dumbass over and powerfucked the shit out of the dweeb. Hes fucked for every future negotiation. They all know hes an ankle grabber when the balls start to touch.
Almost feel sorry for the little fella...almost

LMAO, this is hilarious considering it closely follows 3 posts in which I corrected you... with no response.
I've always maintained Rielly is great offensively, poor defensively.
I've never said Rielly is #4 or #5 dman, wot da fock?
I've always maintained Marner has talent but will get destroyed one day.
Speaking of that, now that Nylander is wrapped up, here's hoping...

Yup, gotta respect how Icelander remained calm, cool, collected as he "powerfucked the shit out of the dweeb".Uncle dans leg wrote: ↑Sat Dec 01, 2018 8:26 pm The question is... is he the 6th or 7th best player on the leaves?![]()

Festive Stick
@TheOakLeafs
[Random Willie appreciation tweet ahead of contract announcement]
Points as of 185 NHL GP
Tavares 142
Nylander 135
MacKinnon 134
Draisaitl 131
Kucherov 128
Giroux 128
Benn 128
Kuznetsov 126
Seguin 111
Kessel 103
I bet this stat shocks you. And Willy got less TOI than everyone on that list.

You do realize that's actually a huge compliment on Toronto, right.Uncle dans leg wrote: ↑Sat Dec 01, 2018 8:26 pm The question is... is he the 6th or 7th best player on the leaves?![]()

Gotta love Burke: 7th best player, but not close to a contender! LOL. He'd be #1 on a lot of teams.
When a blue chip forward like Willy is your 6th or 7th best player,(61 points each of his first 2 full seasons) you are in fantastic shape.

Re: The Official CC "All Thing Leaves" thread
He wouldn’t be the #1 player on a lot of teams. I can’t think of a single team that he be the best player on. Even this scabby, shitty Canucks team has three better forwards

Re: The Official CC "All Thing Leaves" thread
Sure enjoy the compliment while u can. Signing the least effective of all the pending and upcoming leaf FAs for this bad of an overpayment guarantees your fucked-ness from the very next contact negotiation and onwards.

Re: The Official CC "All Thing Leaves" thread
Without the joking around, I keep seeing higher and higher precedent set and break point isn't too many years away if these big
contracts continue to be doled out to players that barely have their feet wet in the league.
Nor do I think 35 plus year olds should be handed mega contracts based on their past accolades.
The crazy deals at the TD are nuts sometimes too.
In a perfect world, where the NHL was in the same market level as the NBA. NFL, MBA or EPL, would be awesome but that isn't the case.
In short order, the NHL will be creating a problem that can't be reversed.
I am fully aware of the danger of leagues like the KHL but done properly, I think we can stay above that and offer more security.
Besides; This is North America !!
Ok, a little prejudice there, sorry..

Re: The Official CC "All Thing Leaves" thread
Some of those deals were signed a few years ago. Hard to compare. The deal is decent and market value. But you raise a good point. Mathews and Marner will blow that contract out of the water. The leaves will be paying four forwards 38-40 million per. It isn’t sustainable and it’s why they will be trading Nylander within the next calendar year.
