Re: Canucks Young Guns
Thanks Per,
His second goal was impressive. His foot speed seems to have really improved. The kid is playing with a tonne of confidence.

Re: Canucks Young Guns
Team 1040 talks to a guy from the Hockey News about the top 100 prospects.
https://www.tsn.ca/radio/vancouver-1040 ... -1.1026129
Interestingly, they have Mittlestadt rated #1, Petterson just behind @ #2.
Top 5 Canuck Prospects:
1) Petterson (#2 overall)
2) Juolevi (#21 ov)
3) Demko (#38)
4) Dahlen (#66)
5) Gaudette (#77)
6th best Canuck prospect (doesn't sound like top 100 though): Kole Lind
Like Sekeres, I'm a bit surprissed Dahlen is ahead of Gaudette. Juolevi seems kind of high as well. I think I'd go for Canuck prospects:
1) Petterson
2) Demko
3) Gaudette
4) Juolevi
5) Lind/Dahlen

Re: Canucks Young Guns
Looking at their stats, the only reason I can see for this guy ranking Middlestadt higher than Pettersson is size, and the fact that college hockey more closely resembles the NHL game than the SHL does.
Somewhere in NW BC trying (yet again) to trade a(nother) Swede…..

I think gaudette being lower down has more to do with age than anything else. I think he’s nhl ready though.

Think we’ll see Gaudette this year if his season ends in time?
I am he as you are he as you are me
And we are all together….

Re: Canucks Young Guns
I cannot see how the Hockey Gods would do this for the Nucks. Something bad, something really bad is going to happen.
I’m afraid.....

Either a wanker or a cunning linguist.
Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.
I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

Thanks for the welcome guys and gals
Re: Canucks Young Guns
Gaudette will make our team next year and get games this year. He is so tenacious and has a engine that will cover up much of his NHL mistakes as he gets going, he is relentless much like Liepsick.
All Pettersson needs to do is shut is down after the season and hit the gym - I think 3 or 4 months of strong gym work will lock the deal up for Pettersson to start the season he can easily gain 15 lbs of muscle in the off season.
Dahlen I think jumps to Utica to see how he can survive the smaller rink with better hockey than tier 2 Sweden League.
Demko I think will be ready if he can slot into a role of 25% of games, despite his Utica coach saying he should play another year. I know people will start talking about this guy losing his confidence coming in. I will say if we trade Tanev and don't end up getting Dhalin then I would not bring him in with a patchwork d.
If we draft Svechnikov or Zadina or Dhalen all three can play next year.
Julevi will play for us next year.
Lind will go to Utica unless he blows coaches away in training camp and has success in pre season. I can't see him making the jump straight to NHL, I've seen him play a few times in Langley, I will say the way he taunts the home crowd when he scores shows his edge, looking forward to watching his development.
Dark Horse - what about Petrus Palmu the tree stump on wheels. This guy is very short and rolls in at 195 lb. Having decent season in Finland. Really interested to see this guy at camp. He should be in Utica.
Diepetro - should go to Utica
Gadjovich - Here is that strong forward Jim wanted to trade for this year. In the same boat as Lind, great prospect but will be hard for him to crack the lineup.
