You won't finish writing the book on Hunter Shrinkydink who is a year older than Jake but you slammed the book on Virtanen permanently shut?Blob Mckenzie wrote:Just because Todd Bertuzzi took a while to develop doesn't mean power forwards take any longer to develop than any other player. Nope I hope he pans out but it doesn't look good when pretty much the entire first round of 2014 are NHL regulars.RoyalDude wrote:You won't finish writing the book on Hunter Shrinkydink who is a year older than Jake but you slammed the book on Virtanen permanently shut?Blob Mckenzie wrote:Just because Todd Bertuzzi took a while to develop doesn't mean power forwards take any longer to develop than any other player. Not sure what the fascination with Shinkaruk is, I was never a massive fan just wish they had dealt him for a player other than Granlund. At this point it looks like a win for Ignitowski and I've said as much even though I'm not a big fan of Granlund

Granlund scored 20 goals with a bum wrist all season. Gillis true 2013 1st round pick - Shrinkydink has toiled miserably in the minors since being drafted. Massive asset improvement by the Genius, ahhhhhhgainBlob Mckenzie wrote:Nope I hope he pans out but it doesn't look good when pretty much the entire first round of 2014 are NHL regulars.RoyalDude wrote:You won't finish writing the book on Hunter Shrinkydink who is a year older than Jake but you slammed the book on Virtanen permanently shut?Blob Mckenzie wrote:Just because Todd Bertuzzi took a while to develop doesn't mean power forwards take any longer to develop than any other player. Off to Squish eh? What for? Scoping out real estate? Not cheap anymore my friend. Admire the beauty of the north shore when you pass through. Paradise by the oceanBlob Mckenzie wrote:You're hungover ? I'm on the road in twenty minutes up to Squamish with a spitter of a dome ache

Visiting my sister in law. Yeah I wouldn't want a crib up there. I've got it down to a few places in the next ten years. Qualicum Beach, Vernon, Peachland , Blind Bay or Kamloops

Dallas situation? Go slow, I'm hungover Blobbee Mac style[/quote]
Because their time is now or next 2 years. Their 3rd is available for a now guy.
Benn n schenn window is or will be closing , that's all I am saying. Because if where they are they are forfeiting young top 5 picks for now guys.... that's all

Re: The Great Jim Benning Debate!
The usual measure of success for drafts outside the first round is number of NHL games played. It doesn't matter how successful Benning was in identifying talent if that player isn't on the ice for his organization. Any role the ownership/management group may (or may not) have had in reducing his desire to play for them further mutes the clarions of genius.RoyalDude wrote:.... when you are stealing the.... Tryamkins.... way outside the first round that is nothing short of genius.
Like Virtanen, the story isn't over yet, but like Virtanen, we are in the dark chapters.

Smokin deals in Parksville, know a dude who bought a home for $250,000 in town of Parksville after selling his home for $2.1 million on the north shore. Talk about downsizing but has a pocketful of doughBlob Mckenzie wrote:Yeah I love Parksville and Qualicum.

If Craig, Pierre and Bob were that great of assessing talent then they would be making a hell of a lot more money being a GM of a NHL team and not siting on the sidelines trying to peddle their ware for key clicks.RoyalDude wrote:Gaudette ranked 40th on Craig Buttons Top 50 prospects list. Pierre MaGuire drools over Gaudette but that don't matter, just McCann matters who never made the top 50 list, whom the Panthers are not happy with but we got Gudbranson for? None of these guys has proven a thing. Tryamkin was a good pick but he wants nothing to do with this organization.Elmer will be judged on Boeser, Juolevi, Virtanen, McCann and this years pick.
We signed him? Demko made the list as well, but that don't matter
