After the first week, Toronto is 0-2-1.

You know what I love about Tarana? They get new management and coaching, and they stay the same crappy team. Alright, alright, alright!!!

Meanwhile... the Canucks #113 out of the 122 teams, second last to the leaves in the NHL. Hmph.

And the Florida Panthers are in the top 50 (48 to be exact)

Tells you something about #1 - #121 doesn't it?

Well to be honest, these rankings have a lot to do with affordability.

Do you miss the fact they're purposely bad and tanking?

We'll shed our Leaf tears during our world series parade.

So they piss away a fortune in hiring management and coaching to TANK ?

Sorry Tuna .. they could have done that without Babcock Shanahan and company .. They are tankers by nature.. Unfortunately Edmonton and now LA are in the tanking contest too !

Why? Is McDavid draft eligible next year too??? :D :D :D

(If only the NHL would have the balls to demote the bottom 2 teams every season to the AHL like soccer does)

No one is signed for a 1 year deal. It was never about getting on ice results this year. I'm frankly surprised anyone doesn't see that.

They purposely made their team worse by sending down their best players in the preseason.

Babcock signed an 8 year deal.

By this time next year, everyone will be ranking the leaves prospect pool #1 in hockey. It's 100% about the future.

Even with a Mathews or Chycrun added to the pool it will not be close to the leagues best . It's about average now and one player won't change that

20 years ago, well 22 actually, I remember thinking that the best thing that happened to the leaves was the Jays getting into the post season. No one in Toronto cared about the leaves, sports shows were all about the Jays. The leaves bad start, hopeless team, could go about being useless and no one cared.

Funny thing, history.
The only HW the Canucks need

A "purposely bad" team that spends to the cap max! (and beyond if needs-be with Horton on-board)

Yup, you leaves fans… a l w a y s… drink the koolaid dontchya?

Last year the leaves were by far the worst team in the league

… and ended up with the 7th best player in the draft IMHO.

(they finished 4th-worst due to a string of ridiculous luck early in the season, but they were the worst!)

And now they go a’tankin’ in the first year with 3 (three) draft lotteries + no McDave/Eichel??

Leaves management should be busy trying to figure out why they are cursed by the hockey gods

... rather than mass-producing toxic koolaid. 8-)

They'll end up in the cellar, lose the lotteries, and draft 4th.

Again.

And they'll screw that up.

Again.

Awesome! :mex:

Stupidest sentence in CC history, not sure what they put in that koolaid but it's obliterating brain cells!

Remember 2 years ago when you were delusional about the leaves being a "contender"?

Well you're even more delusional now!

The leaves have two shrimp forwards in their system who might make the NHL one day.

If they're lucky, by this time next year they'll have three.

Yeahno, you can't build a team with three meh players bro...

I totally agree. And in 5-8 years, they will still suck, and once again have a good prospect pool. It's 100% about smoke and mirrors and foggy crystal balls into the future.
