Started listening to her stuff when I was in Calgary working with one of my clients. Pretty good stuff if you are into that Amy Winehouse-type of sound.

Dirty Projectors are an indie rock band from Brooklyn. Loving their stuff.

Who's next?

Love Neko Case, Spideyman. Middle Cyclone was one of my favorite albums the year it came out.

Recently going through a Band of Horses craze, just bought their first two albums, yeah I'm late on the game for BoH. My fave albums so far for 2011 are Dolorean's 'The Unfazed', Bon Iver 'Self-Titled' and Fleet Foxes 'Helplessness Blues'.

looking forward to the new Richard Buckner, Wilco, Elliott Brood, The Deep Dark Woods, Blitzen Trapper, Richmond Fontaine and AA Bondy all coming out in the next 2 months.

If you are looking for a new discovery, I highly recommend AA Bondy's two albums. You can't go wrong them. He's probably my favorite 'new' artist. His old band 'Verbena' had a Nirvana'ish sound sort of but now he has gone sort of Folky with his solo stuff, real cool.He puts an a helluva live show, saw him last year at the media club.

I don't mind Neko Case, butt Mrs Topper and I caught a show of hers at the Commode a few years back (The Sadies backed her up). It was billed as a homecoming for her days at Emily Carr.

Disappointingly, she played a very short set for her paying fans before running off to party with her art school friends.

Was at J Roddy Walston and the Business last night - holy hell they put on a fucking awesome show!

They're a band that's likely to blow up in the next year or two my bet. They've toured with some pretty big bands (Black Keys, Deer Tick) and sooner or later they will get their break too. All great stuff.

Always missed your musical insight BD, finally saw Wilco at Massey Hall last year and was very very impressed by the technical talent. I'll check out the others, haven't had much time of late due to school but will now that I'm back to the land of the living.

Wottya know Spidey Jr. took up the electric, started a band and is off and running like a clam at a seagull convention. I draw, he plays but my influence on him over the years has taken it's toll...Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters, Stones, U2 but one of his buddies has him going down the Led path right now, I know he will find his way back if I take him to local live jive like Uke Jams And I told him the advice you gave so many years ago that anything you ever needed to know about song writing you can learn from the master chord changing limey cockroaches...

I gave a listen to some and AA Bondy stands out the most. BoH, not so much but I always give them a few listen before judgement is passed (or the audio hard on kicks in or not ). Bon Iver ain't bad either.
I knew I heard Fleet Foxes somewhere. Good stuff!

I have started to appreciate Mark Oliver Everett E! and The Eels a lot more and have picked up a few of their albums. They'll soon be in town and I got tix. One thing about this town is the music scene, whether independent, local or big it attracts all kinds. North X NorthEast was amazing. Saw Fucked Up perform their new punk opera.

Introducing The Procrastinators (kids band name) to as much small venue as I can to counteract his affair with everything The Edge...ahhhh was I that narrow minded as a youth? No, I was of the lucky ones in the seventies with a bro 6 years older that, while my friends had all the Kiss albums, he got me into Zeppelin, Stones, Aerosmith, The Who, Floyd, Bowie...

Can't say my tastes mellowed much, love everything except the sweetest of pop and new cuntry...

Her name is Tove Styrke and she was on Swedish Idol when she was 16. Oddly she came in third, but I doubt anyone remembers who the first and second place people were....
