The primary goal of this site is to provide mature, meaningful discussion about the Vancouver Canucks. However, we all need a break some time so this forum is basically for anything off-topic, off the wall, or to just get something off your chest! This forum is named after poster Creeper, who passed away in July of 2011 and was a long time member of the Canucks message board community.

The Brown Wizard the second he clicked play on this epic tune:
I became addicted to cricket when I lived in Ja. The girlfriend of the time wasn't impressed when I lay in bed at 3am to listen to live radio broadcasts of the West Indies playing Pakistan.......but Walsh broke Prabhakar's face.
Cricket is one of the only sports other than hockey i watch (intl rugby 7s is the other)
Brendon McCullum is the best player to ever play for the Kiwis and could hammer the cookie better than anyone I have watched. That triple century performance against India in 2014...epic https://m.cricbuzz.com/profiles/201/brendon-mccullum

I was in Jamaica for the tail end of the West Indies dominance and the emergence of Australia. Scorching pace taking no prisoners, Lara beating Sir Gary Sober's 35 year batting record and then 10 years later going 400 not out.
Best thing about listening to cricket on the radio is that by the end of the day, the announcers are completely hammered. Late in the day commentary from Jamaica "just wonderful, more gifts from the estate owners to the members of the fifth estate."
A few years ago I worked with a Tasmanian who'd played youth State level and a few youth internationals. I mentioned fellow Tasmanian David Boone and my co worker didn't shut up for 3 days. Did you know Boone holds the record for most beers consumed on a Melbourne to London flight?
I, like everyone else in the region, planned my business trip to coincide with cricket tours. best one was a trip to examine historical gold anomalies in St Vincent and a one day Windies/Australia match. Drove out to where the gold anomalies were and it is now a parrot preserve sponsored by every little old lady church group imaginable. The next day, the Windies beat Australia so bad the Australian coach made the players jog back to their hotel. Arnos Vale is likely the most picturesque cricket ground in the world.
Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.
I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.
