Dinosaur.
Find me any coach with around Sutter’s level of experience on his resume who hasn’t been fired multiple times.

Off the top of my head, The ones out there....

Joel Q
Trotz
Torts
Vigneault
Tippet
DeBoer
Laviolette
Ruff
McLellan
Cooper
Maurice
Sullivan
Boudreau
Gallant
Julien

All of them are regarded as good coaches with loads of experience. They’ve all been axed a couple of times and rehired after varying lengths of time between jobs.
But da Gwimace said he’s a Dynosore.

Sutter has two cups and a final appearance. He’s a good coach until it’s proven he isn’t. Doc had to go on attack mode for no particular reason. In fairness to the Grimace I guess I’d be miserable being a hundred pounds overweight, bald, 67 years old and covered in burger grease all day but he needs to suck it up and not drag his misery into every thread.

We’re here to help Doc :drink:

All coaches have a shelf life. Eventually the players tune out even the best of them. The Flames need player personnel changes - no coach can save this bunch. Some decent talent, but they lack a key ingredient - chemistry (also the so called "top end" talent on the team isn't good).

^ I see Doyle is still mad at me for outing him as a janitor with a major drinking problem IRL. Fact!

None of those guys have been fired from an NHL head coaching job more times than Sutter (4).

(hell, Cooper has never been fired as dat dere)

Also only 3 or 4 of those guys were fired for being dinosaurs (what I said).

Suttosaurus has been considered a major dinosaur for years, everyone knows this...

Lol I ain’t the guy that lives in a sewer like Abbotsford.

I might cop to the drinking problem so you are 1/3 at best on your accusations. As usual you drag another thread into the ditch. All I said was Sutter still a decent coach’s till it’s proven that he isn’t, then the attacks come out. Talk about a bitter boozer

Lol Sutter is a dinosaur for at least a decade despite having won two cups inside the last nine years.

You can’t make this shit up folks.

I don't think Doyle knows the definition of dinosaur.

He should've clued in when I told him he and his cousin Gomer are dinosaurs.

Well it only took Doyle 10 years to cop to the drinking problem.

Maybe in a few more years he admits he's a janitor, but then who really cares amirite? :drink:

"Yeah well, duh, you're the Grimace... yeah that's it, the Grimace!"

Go home, wash the burger grease out of your skullet and get ready for your next shift. Have a nice mug of Royal Red and don’t be mad. We are all friends here... :) Maybe go down the slide in the McPlay area a few times to calm down. You seem very angry.

Hard to believe Joel Quenneville won Chicago 3 Cups as their head coach and they still let him go.

Quenneville was a good candidate as a coach since being a player.
Fletcher had an inkling Quenneville, who had played for the leaves early in his career, would be good coaching material because of his background as a defenseman. He wasn't an All-Star, but he had 13 seasons of experience in the league.

"(Defensemen) really know the game," Fletcher said. "They see the game coming to them from their position, and I just think they make good coaching candidates. Al Arbour was in the same situation."

https://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/b ... story.html
Goes to show any coach can be let go, it's finding the right man for the right situation at the right time.

Is Travis Green the right person right now for this squad? or does this young core of a team need a different voice/perspective moving forward as Petey, Horvat, Boeser, Hogz, Gaud...soon Podz, Hughes, Demko start going further into their NHL development and will take over the cap/team culture with some of the vets here to help out in Miller, Myers, Beags.
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.

Dinosaurs get a bad wrap. They did nothing wrong. Went about their business as biggest and baddest creatures this planet has ever seen and then one day it is all over because of a comet colliding with Earth. I don't if mammals are so lucky.
Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

How was it? You like it?

Like it too much?
