Well, we made it! And, while there are still 3 days left in the regular season, we only need 1 point to lock up the Pacific. Demko is back against Calgary tonight, and will have 2 warm up games before the Playoffs start. Garland is on fire, and looks to be an annoying Gnome against any team we face. Our defence is healthy. I am starting to feel pretty good about where we are. I hope and expect to be drinking Playoff Beers well into June. Let's Go Boys!

Well, they got 2 points and locked it up. How many times over the years have we watched this team NOT put it together and lock something up with a W and need another team to do them a favour in order to succeed? Refreshing really.

I’d send Abbotsford to The Peg for #82 and let the entire team rest. Lol.

Carolina rested six players last night. I’d like to see some of the black aces get in a game. Hard to say what Tocchet will do? His lines look set and developing chemistry. I kind of think Tocchet is going to send his whole team and keep the Chemistry rolling. I don’t think Tocchet gives a shit who the team meets, even if LA did much better against the Canucks than Nashville. I can see him wanting the conference title if Dallas makes it available, and if not, he’ll want home ice over Winnipeg should they meet in the third round. He doesn’t strike me as a guy that will take a game off unless there are lingering injuries.

Our game against Winnipeg has meaning even if Dallas locks up the West tonight. If we win in any fashion we tie the Jets for points but hold the tie breaker for the playoffs. So it guarantees us home ice should we meet the Jets in the playoffs.

Yeah, I, if I was RT, would rest only players that could really use it or are fairly banged up. Maybe rotate in 1 D and 1 or 2 Fs and start Demko.

Let's see what happens with Dallas in regulation tonight. Incredible to realize last night's game was the first time this season the entire lineup was healthy.

Fun Article on Coach Tocc's Coaching Strategy: :D

Tocchet’s Canucks Coaching Genius Mirrors Ali’s Rope-a-Dope

https://thehockeywriters.com/tocchet-ca ... XBr-qcG6yA
Coach Tocchet’s Strategy of React and Adapt

Using this tactic involves three steps. First, he keenly observes his opponent’s offensive maneuvers. Second, he relies on his goalies’ abilities to keep his team in the game – to absorb the punches thrown by the opposition. Third, he makes swift on-the-fly adjustments to counter the opponent’s strategy.

The Canucks Tend to Frustrate Opponents

In a strategic move reminiscent of Ali’s rope-a-dope, Tocchet’s strategy involves letting the opposition frustrate themselves by unsuccessfully trying to wear down his team’s defense and goalies.

Tocchet’s Strategy Parallels with Ali’s Rope-a-Dope

The resemblance between Tocchet’s strategy and Ali’s rope-a-dope is striking. Both involve absorbing pressure, strategically wearing down the opponent, and then seizing opportune moments to strike back. The psychological impact on the opponent, which is to create mistakes based on frustration, serves as a common thread in what seems to be two disparate sports.
Just give Coach Tocc the Jack Adams. Oh, and his fave movie must be Sly Stallone's Rocky.

I like the Canucks chances against Nashville as long as the Canucks don’t play U2 as their entrance song. If they do, all bets are off.
