I picture UW in front of a roaring fireplace in a dark mahogany lined study, wearing a corduroy blazer with the leather elbow patches, swirling some expensive amber throat burning fluid in a tumbler, with a long thin pipe balanced on his knee...weaving tapestries on his 15 year old flip phone using the numeric keypad

The other side where you were a mod. Wettie loved quoting the CBA in banal diatribes.

Wettie was slime.

UW beat him at his own game (law).

Wettie slinked off to that other site in shame.

He passed a few years ago.

...can't have been worth my time as I do not remember him at all.

I'd say maybe I had the flip switched to ignore, but if I was modding I guess not....

Friedland candle light courtship of Pettersson was puke inducing.

The priority signings top to bottom

Hronek - RFA
Joshua - UFA
Zadorov - UFA
Lindholm - UFA
Myers - UFA
DeSmith - UFA
Cole - UFA
Blueger - UFA
Lafferty - UFA
Silovs - RFA

For me it’s Hronek and Joshua at the the top of the list, and then dominos. Zadarov and Lindholm will be sacrificed due to signing Hronek and Joshua, no money left for those two, unless we trade one or two of Hronek and/or Garland or Boeser but not sure being a team with three top three centres and no wingers to play with is all that smart. Plus there are no top 6 wingers in the pipeline ready to step in, Myers can be returned cheaply as with the rest.
“Tyler Myers is my guy... I was taking to Scotty Bowman last night and he was bringing up his name, and saying he’s a big guy and big guy need big minutes to play, he is playing great for ya… and I agree with him… He’s been exceptional” - Bruce Boudreau

Back of my mind the last few days is what happens if several of the top tier impending FA's walk?

Hronek, Zedorov, Meyers have been instrumental in the size and grit on the rebuilt D.

Joshua is becoming the the guy Jake was drafted to be .... or go back to Gaunce.

Bluger is the new vision of Malhotra.

I'm not concerned with Cole, Juulson easily fills the role. Lindholm was known to be a rental in exchange for a salary cap dump, though he was expected to contribute more down the stretch.

Some big shoes to fill if several of those walk and the season could look like a one and done with 11.6 million eggs on the geriatric's face.

I think you nicely sum up the reason(s) why many of us do not like Pettersson’s contract.

Running some numbers. Month by month, Goals, Assists, Points, Games, Games held to 0 pts.

Media is quick to post/brag about a players multi point games, but how often are they shut out on the score sheet.

Pettersson, G - A - Pts - Gms - 0pt Gms
Oct 6 11 17 9 2
Nov 4 10 14 15 5 - 3A in SJ Blowout
Dec 4 9 13 12 5
Jan 14 7 21 13 4 - Lotto Line
Feb 2 9 11 13 6
Mar 4 5 9 12 7 - Signed $11.6 million/year extension March 2nd
Apr 1 4 5 8 3

Miller, G - A - Pts - Gms - 0pt Gms
Oct 5 8 13 9 3
Nov 8 15 23 15 2 - 1G, 2A in SJ Blowout
Dec 2 10 12 12 5
Jan 6 13 19 13 3 - Lotto Line
Feb 9 6 15 13 4
Mar 5 7 12 12 3
Apr 2 7 9 7 0

The big differences are:

Pettersson was shut out of the scoring a dozen more games than Miller.

In the final stretch games of the season Miller had 21 pts (19 gms as he sat the final game of the season) and was off the score sheet 3 times. Pettersson had 14pts in 20 games and was off the score sheet 10 times (50% of the games).
