Desire isnt synonymous with success
Roy can't hear you with his 4 Cup rings in his ears.
What did he accomplish once the pads came off though?

(Besides act like a lunatic)
Remember how Roy tried to fuck the Avs when he quit in a huff a couple weeks before training camp?

The entertainment value, though...

Having a guy like Roy behind the bench would mean Cup winning experience at the top of the food chain in the locker room.....might be what some of these guys need.

What, after winning all his Vezina's, 3 Conn Smythes post season MVP's, 4 Stanley Cups among many other NHL hardware/accolades?

Oh only winning the best NHL coach award, the Jack Adams.

Coaching/managing his junior team to a National title, the Memorial Cup, just the 7th rookie coach to win it, that includes a Claude Julien.

Sure he has a bit of a anger issue, who doesn't when you are bred to be a natural born winner, even Michael Jordan was crazy in practice tormenting his teammates to be better, a mean muthafcuker behind the scenes, but guess what it worked to win championships, you need that cut throat ruthlessness to win in Pro Sports. You can't be nice all the time in this league and expect to win.

"In 2016, Roy, citing a lack of input in personnel decisions, stepped down as the head coach and vice-president of hockey operations for the Avalanche."
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.

That’s one of bennings faults is giving coaches to much input into personnel decisions.

Twitchie Willie won numerous championships as well including a calder cup and a 48 win 101 point season in the NHL. Even got a handful of Jack Adams votes that year.

Twitchy Willie is a better coach than crazy as a fucks Roy

In his following 2 seasons he had 120 points in 130 games with a 32-goal pace. Pretty "meh"

Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

Only because he won't axe the coach.

I'd say you should want your coach having input into personnel decisions, right now we see where Benning has added young players that Green won't use and keeps gifting minutes to useless vets. Seems he finally tired of playing the Air Thief at least, but look how long that took.

As GM either you consult with your coach and get players he will use, or you fire your coach for not using the players you get.

The current state of the team is a combination of some rather subpar pro scouting and cap management, and a coaching staff that doesn't seem capable of walking out a system that works with (or reacts to) the level of talent on the roster.

This to me is a critical requirement for any winning team.

Both the GM and Coach need to be on same page about who to play and where. I will even go a step further and say the AHL coach should be included in this equation as they are supposedly coaching call ups and future starters. I personally do not give a damn on the AHL team wining their division or league but I do care that a prospect is given the ice-time and opportunities to learn.

The thought of Roy as head coach here is absurd. What's next, Messier as GM and POHO?
