So, Josh Rimer speculates that The Real Deal is on the trading block. He speculates that the Flyers are in contention:
Evander Kane - the Winnipeg Jets once again are shopping Evander Kane. I can see him going to the Flyers in a deal for Brayden Schenn.

Well, If I'm the Canucks and all it takes is B. Schenn, I'm looking to see if you could pry Schenn out of the Flyers with either Kesler or Edler being offered and make it a three way deal. 8-)

Oddly enough, I actually do.

It was on a site called GoCanucks.com (Brian might actually remember this site because when GoCanucks go sacked, him and Chris encouraged/recruited the posters over there to join Canuckscentral).

Anyway - my very first post was in the summer of 1998.

My handle nick at the time was 'GM Wannabe'.

I proposed a three way trade idea: (my Subject heading was: "Three Way Trade Idea! - Van/Phx/NYR"

To New York Rangers: Pavel Bure
To Phoenix Coyotes: Eric Lindros
To Vancouver: Keith Tkatchuk, Oleg Tverdosky.

Botchford's opinion on why the Canucks are apparently not so high on B. Schenn:

Cole Robinson ‏@Colenuck

@botchford hey Botch, what was it about Brayden Schenn that the Canucks didn't like?

No question Schenn had a tough year but hey he's only 22 and a great "buy low" candidate.

He started the season on Lecavalier's wing and ended up being Lecavalier's centre.

Lecavalier was BY FAR the biggest corsi drag on the team.

Here's a great article on Brayden Schenn's season...

http://www.broadstreethockey.com/2014/5 ... den-schenn

And I'll just mention that he hits harder and more often than probably any Canuck top 6 forward since

... well since maybe since forever.

Yes I probably should have said "potential" top 6 forward.

Safe to say the Rangers will be going after some bigtime free agents this summer.

It's almost a given that they give Stastny $7.5M per for 8 years.

They can't give 8 years. Only the team holding a players rights can give that long a term.

Brayden Schenn signed cheap. Any team would be happy to have him in the 3C spot at that price!

2 years and 5 mil

Oilers Sign Nikita Nikitin, 2 years $9M ($4.5M per)

Suddenly, Garrison at $4.6M doesn't seem like a bad deal at all. Looks like a steal by comparison.

Nikitin (28 years old)

Garrison (29 years old)
81GP 7G 26A 33PTS 57PIM 20:53 TOI

Man, the Oilers really need to overpay to get players to sign. Ference at $3.25M and now this...
