Trevor Linden is stepping down in VAN

Re: Trevor Linden is stepping down in VAN
Friedman now backing off Lombardi rumors due to him saying he is with the Flyers 3 more years.
He said he was contacted by one NHL team and when asked if it was the Canucks, he said no comment.
No reason Benning can't designate people to do certain parts of all the organisational duties and be the super boss.

This is the new paradigm for mass communication: bypass the mainstream media and either go through corporate-owned media or communicate directly through social media. Much more comfortable for them than dealing with uncomfortable questions from a professionally skeptical corps of journalists. No doubt Linden signed some kind of gag arrangement as part of the ‘amicable’ parting of ways.Todd Bersnoozi wrote: ↑Thu Jul 26, 2018 11:28 pm a) Who does Aqua-man think he is, Donald Trump? What's with the twitter thing? It'd be nice to see him hold a press conference, speaks directly to the fans/ticket holders and field some tough questions from the media.

Any info out there on what Trevor's contract status was? Was his original deal with the AIG not for 4 years?

I do not take anything to heart, I know everyone cares about my dead fish, did I tell you it cost me thousands of dollars and YEARS to get it to that point? It was wiped in a matter of minutes.Uncle dans leg wrote: ↑Fri Jul 27, 2018 9:58 amReef sorry to pick on you but you seem to like getting hammered in debates. Just yesterday he said:

Elliotte Friedman
@FriedgeHNIC
Hearing Dean Lombardi is a serious contender for open job in VAN. We’ll see where it goes.

You were "hearing" that about a guy who is completely unavailable eh?
Piss off Friedman...

Re: Trevor Linden is stepping down in VAN
We all knew Trevor was inexperienced when he was brought in.
We all knew there was no way he could handle the full-meal-deal prez job... like some presidents.
And we all knew his plate was too full anyway... to deal with all that stuff.
Yours truly was quick to lable him merely a "figurehead"... and I think most agreed.
I get the feeling that over time the title went to his head and he started pushing harder to have a voice.
I get the feeling that his loyalty to some players was a problem, along with his overly nicey-nice ex-union-guy persona.
I also think that he was getting frustrated with being overruled (by the management group) on some decisions.
I think he eventually realized that he simply wasn't a very good president.
Great guy, great captain, great hockey player for a few years, but a pretty crappy president...

You are extremely happy with how things have gone the past 4 years, yet the guy in charge of Hockey Ops gets zero credit for it?Strangelove wrote: ↑Fri Jul 27, 2018 12:51 pm Great guy, great captain, great hockey player for a few years, but a pretty crappy president...
