Fuck it, I'm on board MCP! :drink:
Well there were only 24 teams in the league when The Bettman became commish

... but he was hired with a mandate to expand and most of that was already in the works.

Gary Bettman has done everything asked of him including making the NHL more popular in the US.

A lesser man wouldn't have been as successful at completing the monumental tasks assigned to him.

Without Gary, there's a good chance the Leaves would have bought a Cup or three a long time ago.

So yeah, I will always be grateful to him for bringing in the salary cap and crushing the players "union".

I also loved the way he demolished Ron MacLean in that televised national debate.

Having said all that, I'm in favour of giving him a damn good fruiting as Dan has suggested!

(followed by a jolly good riot of course)

COLE CAUFIELD. who is obliterating all USA goal scoring records...(I'm guessing :D)

Should/might still be avail at 10th overall.
And playing on Jack Hughes/Zegras line all season
So Caufield been carrying Hughes and Zegras all year giving them hella assists.

Soooo he's a 5'7 player potting 35% of his goals on the powerplay playing alongside the consensus 1st overall pick.

Alex DeBrincat?

Two 4th round picks and Ellington to Columbus for Shutdown Pahlsson. Columbus drafts Josh Anderson with one of those 4th round picks

Imagine Kuznetsov instead of buyout Ballard

Woosh.

DeBrincat had 51 goals, 21 on the PP (41%), playing on the Eerie Otters with Connor McDavid (1st overall in 2015).

Which means Caulfield is the next DeBrincat

Cause he’s the next DeBrincat?

Caufield is ranked higher. But if he was the next DeBrincat, he'd be a great pick at ten.

“if”

Is Caulfield ranked higher because of DeBrincat?

It’s a boom or bust pick. Do you want Benning to roll the dice on him? What if he busts? Would you be mad at Benning for picking a player you wanted who ended up a bust? Can the Canucks afford the gamble?

lol keep your shirt on. Just pointing out similarities. Call me a traditionalist, but I'd personally avoid 5'7 players.

I'd take Boldy if he was there.

I want Soderstrom. He’s playing in the Swedish Elite League against men and doing very well. He’s more ready for the NHL than most think. The kid plays with some bite as well
