Re: Players You Hate
Brad Marchand, Apparently the good folks of Nova Scotia think he's a low life to. If he didn't play hockey serious doubt if he could fillet a fish

Re: From Bountiful to Ponoka
Hannan seemed like a player who was lacking any enthusiasm for his job, robotic, I wondered if play in his home town might rekindle his fire but it would have been a huge gamble. Playing before a hockey crazy fan base may make him responsive ??

Re: From Bountiful to Ponoka
Ripping on the Flames just isn't much fun anymore. Gotta disagree there, but maybe that's just because I live in Calgary. I for one will continue to repeatedly kick them while they're down, because it's not going to last forever. I don't expect their fortunes to turn around anytime soon, but when t...

Re: Gillis teaches a lesson. G.M 101.
Actually MG did have a number of pick up's, he just did it before the bidding wars started at the deadline. He signed Sundin, LaBarberra and Vaananen, they all came free in as much as we never give any thing away of importance and we're a much better team with the additions. I'd call that astute man...

Re: Gillis teaches a lesson. G.M 101.
The strech run and then ultimatley the play-offs are measure of a teams character, I'm sure that's the way MG will be looking at it too. His first year as Manager with a roster like he has built. I think MG tried to address character as much as any thing during his signings. The end of last season w...

Re: Gillis teaches a lesson. G.M 101.
Naslund seems like a holdover from a different era so I bet having him gone helped (not stirring up the old debate, or calling him a bad leader), but what about Mr. Motivational Speaker? Is it possible there's something to that? Nah... ERxcellent point, I've been wondering about that myself if Ryan...

Re: Gillis teaches a lesson. G.M 101.
I wonder if the change in atmosphere is due entirely to the loss of Linden, Naslund and Morrison or is it the addition of players like Hordichuk Johnson and Davidson, maybe both.

Re: Gillis teaches a lesson. G.M 101.
Difficult to judge DN or MG. DN at LAST had space to bring in players but never had the chance to show who is choices would have been. It would have been his first opportunity. MG brought in Demitra,Hordichuk Johnson, Bernier Wellwood and O'Brien. One genuine "star"type player Demitra, Wellwood by a...

Abbotsford isn't getting an AHL team. ECHL maybe - to compete with the Salmon Kings. dp Don't be so sure. All the western teams are not happy with the recall rule. In Philly or TO if you have to recall a player, he simply steps across the street and the recall takes place, not every team is like th...

Abbotsford looking for an AHL franchise ??
From the Moose forum just heard that CJOB was speculating whether Mike Gillis is interested in moving their affiliate team, the Moose, closer to their NHL team... This holds no hard facts, just speculation... Abbotsford is likely to get an AHL team at some point in the next 2-3 years but the Moose w...
