Re: The Great Jim Benning Debate!

So if Miller, Sutter, Dorsett etal hinders high-caliber UFA signings, why the heck do we want to re-sign a clearly diminished Hamhuis for another 2-3 years at that cap to be a bottom-pairing D? It couldn't be the non-performing old core with their expensive contracts, NTCs and their right of refusal...

Re: The Great Jim Benning Debate!

I honestly don't know how many times we have to repeat this. There was no way any GM worth their salt or who valued their employment would start their regime with a Lack and Markstrom tandem. Marky wasn't even a proven AHL goalie 2 years ago. We keep mocking the Oiler-style 10+ year rebuild, but yet...

Re: The Great Jim Benning Debate!

I have no problem moving on from Dan Hamhuis. Even before the injury he was awful. His best play was in a small handful of games at the deadline. Too little too late. Absolutely agree with Tops. Walk away. No way JB gives him big dollars, term or NTC. Sounds like some GM-speak to me. See ya Dan, Al...

Looks like enforcers are back in business. Every team is going to try to find a MVP John Scott clone to cave-in faces and dominate 3-on-3

Re: NFL Thread: Thoughts on the game south of the 49th

Anyone think the Carolina Panthers were this good? I knew the Seahawks were that bad. Hugely over rated. Gave up 10 points on DangeRunt interceptions, lost by 7. Shows how skewed the stats were beating up on the injured and the incompetent down the stretch. I can’t believe how many fans were fooled...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

If Jumbo wants to shut Wilson's mouth, he should score 4 goals in a game and then go find his GM.

Joe knows exactly where he is... and chances are, Wilson is already on his knees from the fans calling for his scalp.

Agreed IN, it really is nice to see other teams experience the drama for a change.

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

Thinking back on the ill fated and terrible Derek Roy trade to Vancouver, I noticed that Kevin Connauton has some pretty good numbers in Columbus (he was claimed off waivers from Dallas). Connauton has 4 goals and 3 assists in 14 games with Columbus, including a goal and two assists in a win over B...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

TSN is reporting the Oilers and Blue Jackets are working on a trade that would send David Perron to Columbus for Artem Anisimov. Perron has two goals and eight assists in 22 games this season with the Oilers, his second year with the team. The Sherbrooke, Quebec, native has two years left on his cu...

Re: Welcome to the Dark Side Minions: The Top Draft Prospect

Well, with Carolina's shootout victory today (after blowing several leads) it looks like we have the 6 spot in the draft (depending on the lottery of course). So thats very exciting actually, I like the potential of a top 6 prospect in this year's draft as opposed to going on a hot streak and landi...
