Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

Yeah I was going to say, not feeling too sorry for Malkin at this point.

Ask Per, I'm sure he's tossed a few quarters in their cups.
Why aren't they called the Frolunda fucking Laaplanders then?

Easy, it's an homage to Frolunda:

Long Island is rapidly becoming the place where goaltending careers go to die..

Re: TV Shows: What are you watching?

To me Season 5 really tainted the series, I thought the serial killer BS was just too much to believe.

The newspaper stuff is alright but really if the first four seasons weren't so great (and I wasn't invested in the characters) then I probably wouldn't have stuck with it.

$8.4M going their way $5.3M coming our way.

Would love to see Subban here at that price in exchange for those 2.....consider sending Connauton.

:P

So would 28 other teams.

Speaking of Jason Arnott, he failed his physical.

So yeah.. still on the market, I guess. :sly:

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

Yeah I don't think we would have had a shot. There's not much opportunity for playing time here, a guy like Wade Redden (or Scott Gomez) knows that this season he is playing for his career pretty much and signing with a team where you're going to be stuck behind five veterans on big contracts, an up...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

I'd probably rather have Redden, consensus around the league seems to be that he is an NHL player who has been kept out by his albatross contract. Barker has had no such disadvantage to explain his slide.

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

Of course he would - just like Brad Richards and Saku Koivu (pipsqueaks) sucked once they moved to the west from the east right? Cammalleri was awful in Calgary right? He's a pipsqueak too. There's not much difference between the two conferences now - again Gomez would be a low risk signing so you ...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

Travis freaking Zajac.. eight years, $46m.

$5.75m cap hit.

I guess we're not going to be seeing much deflation under the new CBA after all.. that or Lou Lamoriello is truly in desperation mode.

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

Booth out 4 to 6 weeks with a groin injury. Sorry RD, due to the shortened season judgement on Booth will now have to be postponed for one more season. If there's a better use for his cap space this offseason, then another injury is to me a strike against Booth rather than a reason to wait around a...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

Oh and Ottawa dealt Ben Bishop to Columbus for David Savard , while the Nashville Predators have picked up former Rick Rypien victim Richard Clune from waivers. Where exactly did you see that? Jesus, you know what? I was scanning the HFBoards trades area and thought it was listed as "confirmed with...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

On the original subject, former 4th overall pick Thomas Hickey has been scooped up by the New York Islanders on waivers.. never played a single game for the Kings.
