GDT: Canucks host Minny - 7pm - Snet

Post by Cornuck »

A quick rematch against the Wild - hopefully with better results.

I guess one way of looking at the current situation is that we were probably going to suck in October anyway. Why not get some of the injuries out of the way now? We're doing ok for a team missing 4 regulars.

Schneider gets the call.

Question: Is it legal to put in a new goalie just for the shootout?

I believe the leaves pulled CuJo from the shootout once and put in someone else instead and lost the game anyway.

No goalie controversy but this is great. AV can get Luongo some rest and can play Schneider with confidence.

Oilers did the pull the goalie in the shoot out before too.

Good game for the Canucks tonight, nice to see some secondary offence step up. Good to come back and pound the Mild after the shit show earlier this week as well.

I got what you were saying, I was trying to make a joke and didn't deliver it right.

As for Grabner, there was no room for him on this team. He needs to be a top 6 player and the Canucks top 6 is full when healthy. Had he stayed in Vancouver and been put in a bottom 6 role I believe he would have failed miserably.

Hey, we could have drafted Mike Richards instead of Kesler... so lets not be SO thrilled about the pick. Kesler is, I guess, almost the player MR is though.

Here's the thing though: Burrows isn't a top six forward unless he is clicking with the Twins, and Sammy has only been a viable top six one year in his career. This team may yet find itself one scorer short... with what Grabner showed in terms of chemistry with two other good skaters in Kesler and Raymond, I wouldn't write that loss off yet at all. I would still have made the Ballard deal, because we need him, but lets not pretend that we didn't take a sting on the loss for him.
