GD 2010 pre-season game 1 split squad

Post by Tciso »

Does anyone have the line-ups for tonight's 2 games? we play 2 split squad games v.s. Calgary.

Part of me wants to see CoHo play, and a bigger part of me wants him to avoid the first couple of goon games at the start of pre-season.

Time to put the jersey on. pucks drop in 10 hours.
The Cup is soooooo ours!!!!!!!

This from CDC :
This is the group that will open the pre-season at home Tuesday against the Calgary Flames:

Schaefer – Rypien – Oreskovich; Torres – Friesen – Desbiens; Sweatt – Morrison – Shirokov; Rai – Schneider – Weller; Rome – Sweatt; Connauton – Bieksa; Oberg – Tanev; Ellington – Hannay; Schneider & Shantz

Kevin Bieksa and Manny Malhotra will also dress for the Canucks, but it’s unclear in place of who.

This is the group that will open the pre-season on the road Tuesday in Calgary against the other half of the Flames:

Tambellini – Perrault – Hansen; Glass – Bolduc – Schroeder; Volpatti – Bliznak – Morin; Hordichuk – Rosa – Anthony/Fraser; Ballard – Baumgartner; O’Brien – Ramsay; Zimmerman – Alberts; Polasek; Weiman & Lack

Group C will not practicpate in their game Tuesday.

Group C is made up of:

Daniel Sedin, Henrik Sedin, Alex Burrows, Mason Raymond, Ryan Kesler, Mikael Samuelsson, Manny Malhotra, Cody Hodgson, Alex Edler, Christian Ehrhoff, Dan Hamhuis, Kevin Bieksa and Roberto Luongo – also known as the majority of the Canucks with secured jobs.
So it looks like Cody will not play tonight. Obviously he will need some more time to get in game shape.
He was only just cleared for full contact practices 2 days ago.

These games tonight will be used as a test for the fringe players and I expect that there will be several demotions and cuts tomorrow.

It's going to be an interesting season ... let's get it on!!!

Nice to see that Cody's part of the big boys group - even if it's only to continue his rehab.

Haven't watched the whole game but Schaefer & Morrison actually look pretty good from what I've seen.
Malhotra & Torres look to have some chemistry together.
Shantz will be in Victoria.

Once again, the NHL looks like a bushleague...no way in hell should a clean fair hit result in a fight w/o an instigator being called. WTF?!? Oreskovich throws a solid hit and has to fight? Fucking bullshit reffing once again this year. I'm all for fighting w/ cheap hits but that was so ridiculous.

Not much good to say about either games tonight..

In the Game in Calgary. Lack looked pretty good. We might have won that one if he had played the whole game

I only saw the 3rd period of the Canucks home game online and didn't really see anyone who stood out.

That's good news if they can gel. It could one of the big keys to season.

SOB, was the best Canucks defender overall and went +2 in a 3-2 loss.
