I'd do this trade. The Blue Jackets, in their search for a defenseman with even a modicum of offensive skill, are zeroing on the defense-rich Vancouver Canucks, who may be willing to part with tough blue-liner Kevin Bieksa.
...
No deal is imminent, and it remains to be seen what the Blue Jackets would send toward Vancouver to swing the deal. But left winger Nikita Filatov is a definite possibility, sources told The Dispatch.

He's a flake; doesn't play a two-way game, and is too small - basically all promise and no heart. Just say no to Filatov.Jovorock wrote:2006-2007 RUSSIA-WJ18-A 7 4 5 9 6

It does, but maybe not as much as we think. Everyone was pining for Gillis to unload Bieksa for pretty much anything, thankfully Gillis isn't an idiot.westvandal wrote:What a difference a year can make hey?
Bieksa has always showed flashes of being a player that can be a difference maker. He's put some good seasons together before, and had some good playoff games. It all came together last year with him being partnered up with Hamhuis and Bieksa playing a smarter, more reserved game.
Nobody played well in the Finals, but it does say something that Bieksa was being mentioned along with Kesler for a Conn Smythe after his play through 3 rounds...

Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.

Thanks for bumping this Skyo.
I'm hearing that Kassian for TWO (2) cat turds is imminent.*
Apparently they offered one but Gillis refused to budge.
