1st Period 20:00 – Kings walk out of Harry Potter’s Wizarding World Castle as the Game Presentation team goes out on a limb with Back in Black entrance music.
Alan Held sings the anthem to a few classless boo birds and checks the lyrics on his iPod
1st Period 17:51 – Mason Raymond snipes. Surprising ovation for the bad guys! Peter Harrold, Jack Johnson, Terry Murray,
1st Period 16:47 – Tanner Glass’ first shift of the game. Not to be confused with Danny or DJ Tanner.
1st Period 15:53 – Steve Bernier absolutely nails Rich Clune and sets the record for Most Expensive hit ever at $850,000.
Poor camera work and we miss the Quick-Hank shoving match; sounds like a porno. The crowd seems so amazed with the physicality of the game. Reminds me of a WWE crowd – they aren’t really sure whether to cheer or boo, but as long as there is carnage they will be entertained.
1st Period 11:30 – Edler is an animal.
1st Period 10:54 – Good friend and fellow Vancouverite at the game texts, “there’s a sign that reads Don’t fear the Gingers!”
1st Period 8:56 – Doughty scores; the Staples Centre goal horn sounds like my friends old Dodge Aries getting hit by a freight train. Nice psychological warfare with the cafeteria-fries-warmer-red-light shining down on Luongo after a goal.
1st Period 6:31 – Jack Johnson regroups, and throws a massive head fake to nobody in particular.
There needs to be a tool in advertising that measures product and brand boycotts due to enormous ad buys coupled with terrible creative. In a related story, I am pretty sure I will never eat at an East Side Marios.
Scott Oake reports that Rob Scuderi’s nickname is “the Piece”. Similarly, Canucks fans have crowned Andrew Alberts as “the Tool”.
2nd Period 18:54 – unnamed LA fan needs a lesson in glass banging 101 as he tosses a half dozen right jabs at the glass.
2nd Period 15:56 – fresh batch of fries dropped into the cafeteria warmer; 2-1 Tom Laidlaws.
2nd Period 15:55 – quick glance at Ryan Smyth’s goalie knob. Is that really necessary?
2nd Period 7:42 – 3 – 1 Marcel Dionnes. The PK is killing us.
2nd Period 6:49 – Rome tea kettles Halpern
2nd Period 6:39 – Richardson scores, the assist to Wellwood and Rome. Kings chase Luongo. 4-1 Ron Dugays.
2nd Period 5:07 – Mike Sam. Snips top shelf.

Wow, that was an absolutely brutal call. I am not much for conspiracies, but this is absolute horseshit.
And now a call and Handzus, guess they figure that a blatant mugging of the goaltender might be a little two obvious.

It just doesn't seem meant to be. It just doesn't bloody well seem meant to be. That said, the guys have life and they're getting chances. I'm still watching. Still cheering.

Nice call refs. Call a penalty with less than a minute to go in a two-goal game. Yeah, they can say the calls were somewhere even, but Gutless. Don't worry, Buttman's got your jobs guaranteed through next years playoffs.

Well, if the Canucks needed some of that "us against the world" incentive, they should have it in spades now.

Kings win cup, draws more fans.
Bettman gets more support.
Last time a Canadian Team won the cup, 1993. Gary Bettman got hired? 1993.

Canucks started out very well, took a 1-0 lead, and then gave up 4 straight. Ballgame. The rest is irrelevant. One thing is clear, the forwards have to win this series; the D can't be trusted and the goalie can't make the big save.

Butal......
How many "kicked in" goals from the opposition have been allowed to stand? Plenty!! There was no disticnct kicking motion on that goal. That should have been a goal!
Not to mention the King player holding I think it was Bernier's stick right in front of the net, not allowing him to go to the loose puck in the King's end off a rebound. That Non-call made my blood boil!
This game really seemed fixed to me.......
Luongo was just terrible again.
Demitra just doesn't seem to care at all out there.
Bernier played a great game I thought.
Canucks will still take the series.

Re: R1G3 - Canucks @ LA - 7pm - CBC, VS
Calling off that goal is INSANE. Since when did the the puck changing direction factor into the equation? I heard Mike Murphy explain the ruling afterwards on CBC....he said there was "intent" on Daniel's part....I don't remember that being part of the rule either? In FACT intentional "redirecting" of the puck is perfectly legal as long as there's no pendulum kicking motion. How do you do this while being pushed from behind and trying to stop to hold your ground. Watching this in slo-mo over & over you can forget this happened in a micro-second; the game is rather fast. Oh, and Murphy has the gall to actually say Daniel flicked his toe and kicked the puck w/ his heel. WTF?!?
Together w/ that "too many men on the ice" call this is blatant bullshit.
That said, the Canucks PK blows, the boys aren't working hard enough, they aren't moving their feet and are making stupid plays just trying to get into the Kings zone. The Kings completely outperformed the Canucks tonight, props to them for their work ethic.
Oh and ya that non-call on Bernier having his stick held in the slot was pretty lame not to be called...that stings because it was a crucial time in the game and was a full on scoring opportunity. How 2 refs miss that is beyond me but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt on that one....but w/ all the brutal officiating going on in all series right now it just compounds this crap. There is no excuse for the non-call made by the war-room in TO. Go to Hell Murphy!
Great game by Bernier & Samuelsson!!!
